Watch this: WTF Gymnastics videos!

Among the goodies to be found at Youtube channel WTFGymnasticsVideos: 

• A Soviet attempting (and almost making) an Arabian triple front on floor

• Canadian Charlotte Pipe's Talavara flare -- on uneven bars

• Yuri Balabanov doing a spider imitation on floor

• Parallel bars like it was high bar!

• The elusive dive roll on balance beam

• Jamaican star Shannay Gentles's shoulder-popping Manna to handstand

• Two hugely unusual beam combos: A roundoff, layout stepout, bhs, layout stepout, bhs mount sequence from Summer Reid and a bhs, layout stepout, bhs to double tuck from Melinda Baimbrige

• A handspring 2.5 twist on vault (no, not a handspring front 2.5 twist on vault, just a handspring 2.5)

That's just a sampler. This channel is the equivalent of a gymnastics antique store -- everything's rare, original and very valuable. Most of it is at least 15 years old, with a lot of footage from the 1980s, the golden era of originality in the sport. (Ours is an era of steady difficulty, yes, but rarely eye-popping new skills). 

One video I think definitely meets the WTF criteria is Betsy Hamm's bhs, back full layout stepout on beam, which she competed in 1997. It's a sight to be seen. Unfortunately, it does not seem to be on Youtube. 

Warning: Interspersed among this gloriousness on this channel are several videos of gymnasts falling in particularly spectacular and cringeworthy ways, and, for good measure, a few scenes from "Gymkata" and "Nadia: The Movie." I'm not sure which is worse, bad gymnastics or bad movies about gymnastics, but both should be avoided.
