Saturday NCAA wrap: Georgia goes 197+, Missouri knocks off former no. 1 Nebraska

What happened Saturday night in NCAA women's action, you ask? Here are the details:

Nebraska vs. Missouri: Missouri 195.725, Nebraska 194.55. It all went very wrong for the Cornhuskers on beam, where the team counted at least three falls. It's been since 1995 that Missouri defeated conference rival Nebraska, and this will be a big win for the team as it moves into the post-Sarah Shire era. Individually, however, Nebraska remained very strong: superstar freshman Jessie DeZiel won the all-around (39.375), floor (9.9, tying teammate Lora Evenstad) and beam (9.8, tying Missouri's Rachel Updike). Updike, perhaps a good candidate for replacing Shire's scores for the Tigers, won vault in her own right (9.95), while Nebraska's Janelle Giblin took the title on bars (9.9). (Missouri Tigers)

Penn State vs. Minnesota: Penn State 195.475, Minnesota 195.15. The Nittany Lions hung on for the win in this nail-biter in Minneapolis. Penn State's Sharaya Musser won the all-arond (39.275), as well as beam (9.9), floor (9.825) and vault (9.875) in a typically dominating performance, while Minnesota's Lucy Ennis and Janell Campbell shared the title on bars (9.8 each). (Penn State Nittany Lions)

Georgia vs. LSU: Georgia 197.25, LSU 195.75. Well, how 'bout them Gymdogs? Georgia has looked the most focused (and posted some of the biggest numbers) in Jay Clark's three-year tenure as head coach. Individually, however, LSU certainly made noise in the standings:Jessie Jordan won the all-around (39.25), Rheagan Courville was best on vault (9.95) and freshman Lloimincia Hall tied Gina Nuccio for the floor title (9.9). Elsewhere, Shayla Worleywon beam (9.925), Kat Ding bars (9.95) for Georgia. (Georgia Gymdogs

Kentucky vs. Illinois-Chicago: Kentucky 195.05, UIC 194.35. Kenctuky's so far season high lifted them over the visiting team from Illinois, which also posted a season-high. UIC's Andrea Skala just edged Kentucky's Audrey Harrison for the all-around title (39.05-39.0). Skala shared the beam title with Kentucky's Storey Morris (9.85). Kentucky's Kenzie Hedges won vault (9.8), Caitlyn Ciokajlo bars (9.825) and UIC's Chantel Turk floor (9.85). (UIC Flames)

Air Force vs. Denver and Centenary: Denver 195.4, Air Force 190.925, Centenary 187.25. It was a big night for Denver's Simona Castro, who just competed for Chile at the London Test Event earlier this month. Castro took the all-around title with 39.2, and also scored first place honors on floor, tying with teammate Jorie Hall (9.85). Their teammates mopped up the rest of the individual honors -- Hall won beam (9.9), Louise Mercer bars (9.85) and Moriah Martin vault (9.85). (Denver Pioneers)

New Hampshire vs. Northern Illinois: New Hampshire 193.2, Northern Illinois 191.875. New Hampshire's Ali Carr was the champion on vault (9.8), while teammates Kayla Gray and Kate McGeever won beam (9.85) and floor (9.8), respectively. NIU's Ashley Guerra popped in with 9.8 on bars, tying New Hampshire's Austyn Fobes, a former Junior national team member. NIU's Kim Gotlund was the only gymnast on either team to compete in the all-around, scoring 37.8. (New Hampshire Wildcats

Michigan State vs. Illinois State: Michigan State 194.4, Illinois State 193.625. Michigan State's Dani Levy was front and center at this meet, winning the all-around (38.675) as well as floor (9.85) and bars (9.875). Elsewhere, Levy's teammate Taira Neal was the best on vault (9.85) and Illinois State's Melissa Mann made sure her team didn't go home empty-handed, winning beam (9.825). (Michigan State Spartans

Penn vs. Yale: Penn 191.225, Yale 188.35. Penn's Amber Woo was the all-around champion (38.025), and the two Ivies split the individual event titles: Yale's Tara Field won vault and floor with a pair of 9.75s, while Penn's Dana Bonincontri and Amanda Schlaefer won bars (9.775) and beam (9.675), respectively. (Penn Quakers)

Rutgers vs. Temple, Southern Connecticut, Ursinus and Springfield: Rutgers 192.075, Temple 190.8, Southern Connecticut 186.1, Ursinus 179.7. All-around champion Alexis Guzelman of Rutgers also won vault (9.725) and bars (9.825), while teammate Jenna Zito finished first on floor (9.85). Temple was truly impressive on beam, with the top three scores, led by Sylvie Borschal's 9.8. (Rutgers Scarlet Knights)

Brockport vs. West Chester: SUNY Brockport 186.0, West Chester 181.525. That top D-III school Brockport defeated D-II West Chester is a note of pride for the Golden Eagles. There were four different event champions: Brockport's Gabrielle Petitto won vault (9.475), Kileaigh Chapman bars (9.35) and Taryn Kateridge floor (9.625). West Chester's Kaley LaFleur took beam (9.5). (West Chester Golden Rams)

Cortland State vs. Cornell: Cornell 188.675, SUNY Cortland 183.875. Cortland's Sarah Nadrowski won the all-around (37.025), while teammates Courtney Mangini was first on floor (9.825) and Elise Konikoff captured the title on beam (9.65). Cornell's McKenna Archer won vault (9.825) with her teammates Ashley Maher and Lexi Schupp sharing the win on bars (9.65). (Cortland Red Dragons)

Rhode Island vs. Ithaca and Springfield: Ithaca 184.2, Springfield 181.4, Rhode Island 168.925. All-around champion Jessica Bolduc of Ithaca (37.725) won or tied on three other events: beam (9.65), vault (9.625) and floor (9.65), the latter two she shared with Springfield's Brittany Baglow. Springfield's Lauren Pocius won bars (9.35). (Rhode Island Anchormen)
