Big 12 Championships: Oklahoma adds to its winning streak

Big 12 Championships: Oklahoma 197.15, Nebraska 196.625, Missouri 195.9, Iowa State 194.85.

Seriously, this could be the year that Oklahoma joins Georgia, Alabama, Utah and UCLA in the highly exclusive "women's gymnastics teams that have won an NCAA title" club.

The Sooner women proved once more that they are one of the schools to beat, winning the Big 12 title to continue their undefeated streak. This meet belonged to OU senior Hollie Vise, a former bars/beam specialist who, at the twilight of her NCAA career, is showing that she's competitive on floor as well.

Unsurprisingly, Vise won both her specialties at the Big 12s, notching a 9.9 on bars and a 9.925 on beam. What was surprising was her career high 9.9 on floor, which tied her with teammate Jackie Flanery and Nebraska's Lora Evenstad for the Big 12 championship on that event (9.9s all around).
If Vise shows that she's prepared enough to be in OU's vault lineup come Nationals, she should be considered a darkhorse for the NCAA all-around title as well.

Evenstad was one of seven (that's right, seven) gymnasts to finish first on vault with a 9.9. The others were Missouri's Sarah Shire, Oklahoma's Flanery, Brie Olson and Natalie Ratcliff, and Nebraska's Erin Davis and Maddie Steinauer.

Shire, one of the steadiest gymnasts in the NCAA this season, won the all-around title (39.5) and finished second on bars (9.875). Nebraska's Maria Scaffidi finished second overall (39.25), followed by Missouri's Danielle Guider (38.95).
