Radical anti-gun candidate flying under radar in Virginia special election

On Tuesday, March 2d, voters in Fairfax County Virginia's 41st House District will vote in a special election and choose a Delegate to fill the seat vacated by Democrat David Marsden.  Prior to Marsden, the 41st District's Delegate seat had traditionally been held by Republicans.  See the map of this District here

So far the only controversy to arise in this campaign is Republican Kerry Bolognese's charge that his opponent, Democrat Eileen Filler-Corn, has been conducting unfair "push-poll" operations against him.

"I'm outraged that that these false claims would be made at all, much less in a sleazy push poll," said Bolognese.  "Voters are receiving false information about my record on education when I've spent the last 17 years of my life trying to improve our higher education system and have family in our local public schools."

But this week the Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL) alerted its members that while Bolognese has completed the League's gun rights candidate survey favorably,

"[u]nfortunately, the Democrat [Filler-Corn] has NOT responded.  What is she hiding?  Why is she afraid to publicly take a position on this important issue?  Why doesn't she want you to know her position?

A subsequent investigation of Ms. Filler-Corn's background by the Examiner.com reveals that Filler-Corn has been a key figure in anti-gun rights organizations and has consistently opposed the right to bear arms in public.  At various times between 1998 and 2002, Filler-Corn, a lawyer, and frequent unsuccessful candidate for various public offices in Fairfax County, received endorsements from Jim Brady, represented Handgun Control, Inc., and served as the vice-president and legislative chairman of the Northern Virginia chapter of the Million Mom March

Over the years, Filler-Corn has supported "zero-tolerance policies regarding weapons on school property,"  and said she was "horrified" when the General Assembly voted to allow gun owners to carry and store guns in vehicles on school property.   Likewise Filler-Corn attacked former Governor George Allen (R) for backing the right to carry handguns in government facilities and restaurants serving alcohol

And in a letter published in the Connection Newspaper on July 20, 2000, Filler-Corn declared:

"Every person is at risk from a citizen carrying guns in malls, movie theaters, restaurants and on highways."

But in the 41st District today, voters would not know about Filler-Corn's views on gun rights by perusing Filler-Corn's campaign web site or facebook page because they do not contain any mention of this issue despite the fact that expanding gun rights is the focus of much of the General Assembly's agenda this year.  Filler-Corn's silence on what was once her life's focus is so remarkable that VCDL President Van Cleave is concerned that Filler-Corn is really just an anti-gun "stealth candidate" flying under the radar.  "I really wish she would fill out our survey so our members would know where she stands," said Van Cleave, who subsequently emailed the Examiner.com that

"in 1999 Filler-Corn was proud to push gun control and saw it has something that would propel the Democratic Party forward.  Ten years later she's a  whole lot quieter about that issue since it has been a loser for Democrats."

Ms. Filler-Corn and her campaign manager declined to return any of the Examiner.com's four phone calls requesting comments for this story.

What are they teaching people like Eileen Filler-Corn in law school? Given constitutionally clueless Constitution "expert" Obama, students are evidently being indoctrinated with PC perversions of the Constitution.

Filler-Corn needs to wise up to the following fact. John Bingham, the main author of Sec. 1 of the 14th Amendment, officially clarified to his colleagues in the HoR that the 14th A. applied the 2nd A.'s gun rights protections to the states.

Check out: donttreadonmeanymore DOT blogspot DOT com/ and Open Carry DOT org

The States are writing / have written laws that violate the constitution such as "it is illegal to discharge a firearm" which is a catch all for we don't want guns in our State.

These are more attempts of the radical left wing nutz to be more like Socialized Europe and other nations. I don't give flip about other citizens being concerned about "my gun(s)" or "carrying them" --- What I do have a concern about is the abuse and parasites that feed off of our freedoms and liberties then-- turn around and want to re-write LAW to erode our very freedoms and liberties under the Constitution.

Criminals have more rights than we do. I'm reasonable, you want to rob me, do harm to my wife, daughter? Meet Mr. Smith and Wesson. The creeps on our streets today are there with the parasites because our country has been legislated to idiocy.

They keep attacking the bill of rights because they are not being held accountable...there is no consequence. HANG EM HIGH I say, then we will see much less of this.

Filler-Corn needs to be soundly beaten in the election. Maybe then she'll realize that her continued attacks on the Second Amendment rights of Americans will be a constant source of her losing any and all political races she becomes involved in.

Wow, that's so radical that she doesn't want people to bear arms in public! You crazy gun rights people live in a world of your own because most people don't want that unless the gun-bearer is a police officer. You must have an oversized feeling of paranoia and an undersized something else.

And there's someone like Mona, right on schedule, to give her (I presume Mona's a Female-American) well thought out, rational and constitutionally protected opinion that we gun nuts are delusional paranoids, that the police of all people are the only ones to be trusted with weapons, and that it must all stem from a physical inadequacy with which she seems to be familiar. Have to wonder about the males in her world, if there are any.

Mona you must be an illusionist. Police officers may have better equipment and training but if you think that any American should put his trust in a police state then you are living an illusion. Don't get too caught up in it else you may hit the delusion mark.

The real problem is they brainwash people into believing we have a democracy, because with a democracy, they can get you to vote away your rights. 51% of the people can vote to exterminate the other 49%.
We have a constitutional republic, and they cant touch the 2nd amendment without a constitutional convention, but they dont want anyone to know or think that. They cannot take our rights by force, they are trying to get your dumb neighbor to vote your rights away for you, and with all the vote rigging going on, they could do it, unless people start calling out those that try to label this a democracy, they will keep trying, and sadly alot of people are brainwashed enough to think they can do this to us. Turn off your TVs everyone, the CIA controls the MSM. They are using what they do to foreign countries by controling both sides of the debate in front of you, but not including you.

Filler-Corn (what a name) looks like she just sat on a banana. Fairfax County seems to have been infected with the same left/statist virus that has prostrated Arlington. (Arlington has become so liberal-schmiberal that I moved to Alexandria. It's that bad.) But Filler-Corn is a kook. I bet she starts some kind of effort to stop the Afghanistan Campaign from the Virginia House of Delegates The electorate will soon find out she is a fruit cake, so I am not overly worried.

When you need police in seconds, they will arrive in minutes. When seconds count, you can always count on yourself. Why would anyone not want to have any tool needed to protect themselves and their loved ones?
