April 19th looks to be a big day for gun rights. On the 235th anniversary of the "shot heard 'round the world," the Washington Monument grounds in D.C. will be the scene of the Second Amendment March (actually more a rally than a "march"), from 10 AM to 4 PM (also discussed here).
Follow the link for much more information. For those who can't make it all the way to Washington, click here for developing information on coordinated state marches.
What I really want to talk about, though, is another event on April 19th--not at all far from the main march in D.C. itself. I refer to the Restore the Constitution Rally, mustering at Ft. Hunt National Park, and from there, moving to Gravelly Point Park--only about a mile from the D.C National Mall.
Why a separate rally, near D.C., but not in it? Because the point of the Restore the Constitution Rally is for it to be a visibly (peaceably) armed rally, which would, of course, be more than a little illegal in D.C.--and an argument can still be made for the idea that the time for open (very open) defiance of gun laws has not yet arrived.
WIth that in mind, event organizers have drawn up a set of "Rules of (non) Engagement," to avoid trouble. If you plan to attend, read those rules, learn them, know them, become one with them--we haven't quite exhausted the first three boxes yet.
In other activism news, I wish health and logistics were not preventing my participation in Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day (IGOLD) today, but I am grateful for the people who are making it the success I know it will be.

Unfortunately, I do think the first 3 boxes have been exhausted. Still, make the enemies shoot first (yet again), but this time, let none walk away.
the soap box is absolutely uncompromised. and here you are on the internet proving it.
the jury box has been compromised entirely. civilian jurors are no longer in charge of the law, only of "the facts."
the ballot box has been compromised entirely. in all election races in the US, 90% of voters show up at polls only when the underdog has virtually zero chance of winning. listen and learn.

Jon- The soap box may be "uncompromised" but it doesn't work. I don't know why, but if it did we would not be in this position today. I'll keep using it, I simply won't be disappointed when the inevitable happens in spite of speaking out.
Thanks so much for the article.

What, no three cheers for that recent April 19 event you militia folk made happen? You know, the one in OK City.
Says Dirt: "What, no three cheers for that recent April 19 event you militia folk made happen? You know, the one in OK City."
Of which "militia" were McVeigh and Nichols members, Dirt? I know they were told to leave the second Militia of Michigan meeting they attended, because they were advocating violence, which the Militia of Michigan did not condone--but that, of course wouldn't work as justification for counting those two among "[us] militia folk," now would it, genius?
A proclamation posted on Restore the Constitution website.
Also submitted a thought or two on the rally. Dont know if the thoughts will get posted, but suggested to seriously think along the lines of getting as many as I could to arm up with muskets, ball and patch. Even repros and replicas will make the point clear enuff. Anyone else carrying a rifle, safe-line rules apply. magazines out, actions open, no exceptions.
To whomever it may concern, do yourself and everyone else a favor. If not a musket, bring an M14/M1A, M1 Carbine, M1 Garand, Winchester, Remington, AR or similar and leave the foreign junk like Ak's and Sks's at home.
Bear in mind gentlemen ( and ladies ), you're making American history with your rally, and no real American would ever want to look at some film clip of armed citizens standing up for restoring the U.S. Constitution with Russian, Chinese or some other foreign piece of junk slung on their shoulders.
Oh, and don't forget your DTOM gear.
May the LORD bless the Patriots in their Righteous cause.....may we be granted wisdom to re-establish Liberty, under God, again.
May we recognize that self-government is the keystone that underlies our entire system. Christianity is the only faith that teaches self governance.
Christ was declared to be the new king of our system, by Boston patriot leader, Samuel Adams, my namesake.
After the signing of the Declaration by the 56 founders, he pointedly remarked how America deposed King George III, by self-government in every man, under Him:
"We have this day restored the Sovereign to Whom alone, all men ought to be obedient. He reigns in heaven above, and from sea to shining sea, may His Kingdom come."
This is the ultimate vision & plan for de-centralized government, by voluntary submission to Christ, instead of slavery to the state.
This sees every man a brother, instead of a competitor to be vanquished, or thing to be manipulated, which is what Darwinism teaches
...only by embracing this truth, will we see our rights fully restored.
Yes, it's a glorious thing to use the 2nd amendment to protect the rest of our rights. But try as we might, we cannot inculcate Virtue at the point of a gun
(Is that not essentially what the statist tries to do, via the police state - enforce good behavior ?)
But remember, defense is NOT offense.
To build Liberty, we must use the tools the Founders did:
1) A historically proven faith in Christ the King, coupled with
2) Self-Control and a recognition our essential Liberty consists of:
3) Not merely Rights, but of Duties also.
Once we have re-established these foundations of self-government, turning back tyranny will be the result because the false premises of the Statist system will be revealed.
Reading the Declaration of Independence & Patrick Henry's "Give me Liberty or Give me Death speech" will impart to us great depth of insight !
Up the Republic, under Him !

You are all a bunch of nuts who should not be allowed to play with guns. I sure as hell didn't put my life on the line to serve my country and have the safety of the public put at risk by fools like you. Do yourelf a favor, stay home where you won't get hurt and leave defending liberty to us adults.
Who is going to do the hurting, Vietnam Vet?
(Hears crickets chirping)
This rally will show everyone about 1st and 2nd amendment rights. Hopefully the libs will understand our message and cower in their unarmed, socialistic nests.
But if there's trouble, we are ready!
Got something to say?
