OK, where were we...?
Right, we'd explored the licensing requirements that would be imposed on American gun owners if Rep. Bobby L. Rush (D-IL) has his way and H.R. 45, "Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009" is enacted into law.
Now let's look at the bill's implementation effects, that is, further impositions on gun owners and expanded powers for government.
First, now that you've got your license, you do realize it will expire in five years and you'll need to go through the nonsense all over again? And that you'll have to renew it "not later than 30 days before the expiration date of the license"...?
And you realize the bill will give the government information on who owns what, that is, effect a firearms registration scheme?
They'll know:
(1) the manufacturer of the firearm;
(2) the model name or number of the firearm;
(3) the serial number of the firearm;
(4) the date on which the firearm was received by the transferee;
(5) the number of a valid firearm license issued to the transferee under title I of this Act; and
(6) the name and address of the individual who transferred the firearm to the transferee.
What'll they do with this information?
Not later than 9 months after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Attorney General shall establish and maintain a Federal record of sale system, which shall include the information included in each report...
And what's wrong with that? Some may genuinely wonder. I could remind readers that the violent criminal underclass--you know, the group from which Blair Holt's killer sprang--will still operate entirely outside the system.
Everyone knows the murder took place in handgun-free Chicago, right? And that the teenage assailant was prohibited from possessing a gun by any number of laws, prohibited from carrying it by law, prohibited from shooting people by law...
OK, but what's the danger in keeping tabs on what otherwise law-abiding gun owners own?
Well, say they pass another bill, say a ban on currently legally-owned firearms... you know, like President-elect Obama has pledged to do on his website...? And say the whole program is under the authority of the most anti-gun attorney general he can find, one who's already proven his proclivity for armed raids on households to enforce "the law"...?
Oh, but I'm just being paranoid now. Next thing you know, I'll be saying over-the top stuff like "Go ask Alfred Flatow why gun registration is bad."
I'll need another column to wrap up what I want to say about this obscene insult of a bill. Stay tuned.

Maybe we should support the bill so we can all be criminals and just get it over with.
Yesterday I was a lawful productive citizen, today I'm a criminal. I haven't done anything different and in fact from yesterday to today I was in bed sick. So I went to bed sick as a good and lawful citizen. Today getting out of bed I'm a hated criminal and of course very dangerous as well.
This insanity has got to stop or just go ahead and make us all criminals and get it over with.
Now the truth to wanting to disarm the people. 3 percent of the criminals are behind 90 percent of all violent crimes. These violent criminals are arrested put through the parasitic system that has nothing but parasites from top to bottom. The revolving doors of that system (the criminal justice system) will release these violent criminals knowing full well they will commit more violent crimes and we will have victims. So these violent criminals are rearrested and feed the parasites system once again. The parasites who arrest these violent criminals are worried about going home that night so the other parasites in the system work with them about disarming everyone for the arresting parasites can be safe to run their part of the scam on the citizens. That my friends is what is going on and we may as well all be arrested or killed because our future is mud if we keep allowing this kind of crap to be forced down our throats.
Who's going to be the last lawful taxpayer standing in a sea of bottom feeding parasites?

I had the misfortune to follow the link to Obama & Biden's website. Their list of things they want to do read right out of the Communist Manifesto. I simply cannot believe that idiot won the election. The American populace has become so dumbed down they will now fall for any charlatan that comes down the pike. THe Republic is lost, excuse me while I go throw up.
IF, IF the gun grabbers like this racist Rush were intellectually HONEST with themselves and those they want to protect, they would roll out an all fronts battle to REPEAL the 2nd Article of the Bill of Rights. But since they have no moral standing in life they will not do that. This makes them all COWARDS!
Licensing and registration inevitably lead to confiscation - it's happened up here in Canada, and every State that has implemented it.
