Gun grabbers: Who are these people?

  © 2009 Publishers Development Corporation

We recently saw my efforts to demonstrate why police are not the "only ones" who can be trusted with guns characterized by the Brady Campaign as "denigrating law enforcement."

It's funny, because the anti-gun forces have been pretty tough on active and retired law enforcement and military personnel who proclaim fidelity to the Constitution.

And they--and their media allies--have been positively silent about giving Law Enforcement Alliance of America any notice whatsoever for a recent warning that truly deserves public scrutiny.

So while those who don't trust the rest of us with freedom do their utmost to portray those of us who believe in the right to keep and bear arms as being on the side of criminals, I thought it might be instructive to read another opinion--one that reflects on what it is the indignant gun grabbers are denigrating:

Who Are They?

A bouquet to you for reprinting (Sept. GUNS) the sensible pro-gun views of the National Peace Officers Association of America from "Law and Order." All straight-thinking general magazines should reprint it!

As Contributing Editor of "Southwestern Law," I'm happy that our own association has the same pro-gun views. Our official magazine regularly prints the pro-gun feelings of Lawman-Editor Elston Brooks, Gun Editor Wayne Weems, and my own. Thousands of our members are intelligent law enforcement officers, solid citizens of excellent character, who share identical views, yet deal with armed criminals in the line of duty. Their feelings on anti-gun legislation would fill a large book.

Anti-gun laws seem to be the brain children of those who would wreck our American way of life, including politicians who should or do know better, and "write for hire" writers who lack ability to write anything except something that appeals to emotional thinkers or those who can't think at all. I can supply you a long, long list of progun quotations by highly respected lawmen, clergymen, judges, senators, doctors, teachers, and other thinking people. Just who are the anti-gun people?

Kent Bellah
Saint Jo, Texas

Before anyone at DHS starts thinking about classifying Mr. Bellah as a "Right Wing Extremist," and before Sen. Schumer puts his name on the "No Guns/Terrorist List," I should point out this letter was published 50 years ago.

The Nov. 1959 issue of Guns Magazine has been posted online. I could point out the many great articles, the classic period ads, the...but why not just go discover them for yourself? Just make sure you don't gloss over page 4's "Know Your Lawmakers" responses.

Good stuff. Click here and enjoy.

Thanks for posting the article link David. It's always interesting to compare past events with current events. The saying is true, the more things change the more they stay the same, with regard to the anti gun crowd.

What caught my eye was an ad on page 14 for a Model 1911 .45 Auto pistol in mint condition for $33.95 and for an extra $3.95 you get a holster! If I could only travel back in time and buy a few.

You may have seen the RNC announcement in the FOX Chicago article titled, "RNC Members Propose Purity Test".

    www.myfoxchicago.com/dpp/news/dpgo-RNC-Members-Propose-Purity-Test-fc-200911251259162637466

It's an interesting read. I don't know if this is a new RNC policy or an update to an existing policy. Either way I like the message it sends to the electorate. I would like to have seen questions 10 and 1 in reversed order in the questionnaire.

Make no mistake, the gun banners have gotten crafty enough to nibble rather than gulp with their infringements, but the one invariable truth is that they are never satisfied. Look to the once Great Britain for the perfect example. Handguns gone, long arms severely restricted and crime continues to escalate. So the anti's answer? Simply ban more stuff. Things like knives with points or glass beer mugs. Rocks and tree limbs can only be a step away.
And once they've gotten their way, well it's how we've always done it. All that history of armed citizens is just a fantasy made up by dangerous radical right wingers.
And George Washington was really a black man who talked the British into freeing our country, right? That whole war thing was just a fairy tale to scare children.

There's no conflict. They WANT only people on the government payroll to be armed, and they don't want those people to be loyal to the principles outlined in the Constitution. See, no conflict.

I’ll tell who these gun grabbing, baby killing people are David, they’re Communist!

The global Elite want their seed to inherit the earth, but to do so they have to get rid of the useless eaters and in their minds that us!

The problem is the “us’ meaning USA gun owners stand in their way. People can’t seem to understand how evil and diabolical these people really are.

Yes they use front groups like the Brady Bunch and others to sway the dumb down American people and they control the media.

They are the Wall-Street and London bankers and unless enough people wake up very soon our chances of stopping these psychopaths is going to be very poor!

Do research David on the Milner group or the Round Table group and you will find the core of these Elitist.

As long as the government is going to be socialist and hand out freebies at the wage earners expense (i.e. increased taxation), it is going to be able to buy the votes of the sheep who only care that they are taken care of without having to work. A hard working man who has a weapon and is willing to resist having the government take away his hard earned gains through special interest laws/taxes and have those gains given to the lazy who will not work will be condemned in this country. I have a neighbor who is lazy, sponges off the system and takes every free thing he can get, and then feels he has the right to tell everyone else how to live. He also hates private ownership of guns. Sound like someone we know?

Yes, many anti-gunners are either govt employees or really naive misguided souls. If guns were to vanish today worldwide, they would cheer. Criminals would have a bunch of opportunities everywhere for their mayhem. But then guns would be quickly manufactured again worldwide and by the millions. Criminals might be the first to obtain them. Criminals might take over governments.
I just bought another handgun. My sons will have it someday, I HOPE! I plan to get another when I am allowed to, by the present laws. The laws are like a noose, ever tightening around handguns, storage, ammo, more safety devices aimed at making a gun that will not fire - soon new guns won't shoot at all when you need it to. Or you'll need batteries for it.
Anti-gunners - get real. I need 'em for the defense of my family. So do you. Even Archie Bunker. There are real nasty criminals out there eager to take everything you got. Ask any cop. Go get a gun and ammo for it, while you still can.

Robert your right it seems that the people that are often beguiled by the system are those that feed upon it.

Gun control is the tool of the Elite to disarm those that would resist their takeover and destruction of humanity.

Groups like the NRA are nothing more than shills working for their Elitist masters. Their job is to manage the decline of our 2A rights and only support token efforts for window dressing.

In 1994 the Republicans ran on the promise to Repeal the Brady Bill, did it happen NO because the NRA said it wasn’t necessary

Remember the 1968 article in the American Rifleman in which the NRA claimed they were created for the purpose of supporting reasonable gun control legislation?

Yet today the average NRA supporting gun owners sends in money to these clowns only to support his own demise
