We noted the other day that Starbucks Coffee has resisted Brady Campaign pressure to ban lawful carry of firearms.
Like the saying goes, I have some good news and some bad news.
The Danny Tarkanian for United States Senate campaign has issued the following press release:
TARKANIAN APPLAUDS STARBUCKS GUN DECISION - ORDERS PERSONALIZED STARBUCKS CARDS FOR CAMPAIGN
CARD TEXT: "DEFEND GUN FREEDOMS" TARK2010.ORG
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 6, 2010
Contact; press@tark2010.orgRepublican U.S. Senate candidate Danny Tarkanian applauded Starbucks' decision to stand up for gun owner's Constitutional rights and announced his campaign has ordered personalized Starbucks cards with the text "DEFEND GUN FREEDOMS" and his website, "TARK2010.ORG.
"At a time when the country seems to moving farther and farther away from the Constitution, I am glad to see a company that still respects the law and our country's traditions," said Tarkanian.
...says Cheyenne Gun Rights Examiner Anthony Bouchard. There's a Starbucks in Casper, WY that hasn't got the corporate message.
Or have they?
Click here to read his exclusive report, including why he was contacted after inquiring into this by the police.
Those of you in the Cowboy State take note. I'll be interested in seeing how this is resolved.

The thing that strikes me about both these developments is, there wouldn't even be a story had the Brady Campaign not made it one. First they burn a bridge with their main man because political realities won't let him dictate disarmament edicts as fast as they stomp their feet, and now they get a hot pot of coffee they were brewing thrown back in their faces.
Keep it up, PR genius Peter Hamm. And have some green eggs with your coffee.

Well, I just wrote to Starbucks to backtrack on my previous email to them.
Also, I wrote to California Pizza Kitchen (after viewing the video presented here): "I have just been made aware that you are sucking under to pressure from the Brady Campaign against the 2nd Amendment Rights of US citizens. I have been a regular purchaser of your products from grocery stores (no restaurant in my area). I will not do so again unless/until I receive notification that you have changed your stance and support my Constitutional Rights and those of all US citizens.
Sincerely..."
Good grief... nothing is ever as simple as it sounds at first. Thanks to you and Anthony, we're all over it - at least in Wyoming. :)
I guess I will be eating my words of praise for Starbucks. I never liked their high prices but everyone else joined them including Mc Donalds. And here I thought they made a good stand and now I have to eat my words and go back to avoiding them. A good resource in california is calguns.net and the organizations of gun owners who support it. Maybe by working together we could really put some constant pressure on Starbucks and make them step off the fence onto our side. A store with armed citizens in plain sight is less likely to get robbed.
Say any place makes a policy prohibiting guns.
Does that carry any weight?
If then you do carry, can they legally toss you out?
Can police enforce their rule?
Can they legally refuse to serve you?
Danny Tarkanian,in his campaign in 2006,was supported by the supporters of the Brady Law. They made robocalls for him.
He also donated money to the campaign of a liberal Nevada congresswoman who is opposed to the right to carry guns. We need conservatives who will walk the walk.
Ellen was correct. Tarkanian really did get the Brady endorsement.

The NRA also graded Tarkanian with an F.
Ellen was also correct that Tarkanian contributed to a liberal gun hater:
Contributor TARKANIAN, DANNY
Occupation ATTORNEY
Amount $950
Recipient BERKLEY, SHELLEY (D)

Them twoface politicians who try and weasel in on a story concerning the2nd Amendment Rights make me wanna vomit. I aint about to vote for no flip-flopping fraud like Tarkanian to a six year term in office.
HuH?
Unarmed victims-in-waiting upset over Rights-respecting, law-abiding citizens fulfilling their Moral obligation & duty to keep and bear arms? To the extent that theyve produced a petition DEMANDING Starbucks, uh, 'stand up for the safety of its customers and PROHIBIT guns in their establishments'?
Members of the same group & others of their ilk whove been manipulating peoples minds, championing the cause of defenselessness and pressuring lawmakers to violate Constitutionally-enumerated Rights of American Freemen for decades making DEMANDS?
For their perceived safety and security?
ha ha ha ha, HA!
Cause to wonder how many people have followed the advice of such groups, shirked their obligations and duties to KABA only to find themselves at the mercy of violent criminals and suffered bodily harm or death as a result.
Numerous perps have openly stated they avoid anyplace where someone might be armed and their worst fear is being confronted by an armed citizen.
Can Starbucks ban the speech of it's customers too?
If I'm standing in line 'openly speaking' about the kenyan muslim marxist can they tell me to leave and get the police to enforce it?
H. B. proter says -- "
Can they legally refuse to serve you?" In the case of the Casper Wyoming Starbucks they took the customers order and payment then waited for him to go to the table before they stated the no-firearms policy. They should refuse service before taking your money.
Got something to say?
