Anticipating a setback for Chicago's draconian gun ban when the Supreme Court decides on the McDonald case, Mayor Richard Daley is showing his desperation—and how far he will go to enforce his will on those of us who will not bend to it.
From the Chicago Sun Times:
Six years after the state Supreme Court dismissed his $433 million lawsuit against the gun industry, Mayor Daley today called for a change of venue — to the World Court normally reserved for disputes between nations and crimes against humanity.

Just so we're clear: Unable to sustain his assault on freedom through Constitutional means, Daley is not beneath resorting to extra-Constitutional, that is, unlawful ones. Which means if he can secure a globalist ruling against gun manufacturers, the precedent will be established for securing similar rulings against gun owners for his entire diabolical citizen disarmament wish list.
Nuh-uh. That better stop here and now. Because we really don't want to have to stop it later.
Oh, he can get whatever rulings he wants. But they'll have no legitimate effect on what we do as citizens and the choices we make in exercising our rights. And any attempts to enforce such edicts against us can be regarded as an unlawful initiation of force, to be repelled and responded to accordingly.
That seems a pretty dangerous and irresponsible thing to do to people who want to be left alone. It seems like something only a madman would do.
Of course, things don't have to go that far. We as gun owners have been sitting here taking it from this egotistical little hypocrite for far too long. And while all he knows and understands is coercion backed by force of state arms—you know, that monopoly of violence Josh Horwitz praises while citing Nazi-enabler Max Weber—we peaceable armed citizens have a devastatingly powerful weapon at our disposal: voluntary association.
I call on all members of the gun industry to follow the courageous example of Barrett Firearms:
The California Legislature has banned the .50 BMG from the good citizens of the state of California , violating their rights and the constitution of our republic. Therefore, Barrett will not sell to or service any California government agencies.
That means manufacturers and distributors of guns and ammunition, as well as accessories.
You folks have had a banner year thanks to gun owners. And this guy isn't going to stop until he's either driven you to ruin or made you a total thrall to the fascist state.
Who would you rather have as customers? Him or us?
Fulfill existing contractual obligations but no more. Make no new deals.
Do I expect anyone to listen to me or get behind this? Do I expect the industry to embrace this, or gun owners to back a boycott against those who don't?
Not really. I expect opportunism and apathy, with a dash of cowardice. I expect that to continue until something gives, and then I expect a lot of us are going to be sorry we didn't get involved and roll up our sleeves while things were "easy."
I just wanted to throw this out there, that peaceful means to strike back are in our hands if we would only use them. And that they're being offered by someone those who don't want to allow you to be armed have lumped in with violent anti-government extremists and haters.

With you 100% on this one. I've agitated for the firearms industry to stop arming Leviathan before. If they're worried about bad publicity offer a discount to law abiding citizens and peace officers upholding their constitutional duty. We the People can't possibly do worse than some of "the only ones".
Why, pray tell, is ANY firm doing business with some of these out of control agencies? They have made their tyrannical tendencies and policies crystal clear. Starve them.
OK, now, let me get this straight. Chicago has a gun ban? And officals are actually thinking about sending in the National Guard to stop the violence because of all of the murders so far this year in Chicago? I am so confused. Sounds like Washington D.C. For many years it was the murder capital of the U.S., and it also bans guns. Isn't anybody noticing that when only the crinimals are armed crime and murders seen to increase?
Indeed. Unless the Fed can FORCE private agencies (like oh, say firearms and ammunition manufacturers) to sell to them and state/local governments, just stop selling them guns and bullets. Let them see how the populace reacts when all of the sudden cops and the fed are powerless to enforce the laws they so whimsically decide to create and impose upon the citizenry.
When Local, County and State police forces have to look to private sales for their weapons and ammo, notice WILL be taken.
This is what happens to a human when too much power for too long becomes the main appetite. The voters needs to wake up.
His father was no different in his climb for power years ago. In my opinion there is no more corrupt family in Chicago that the Daleys. He is a mobster in a suit who cares nothing about the average citizen. The gun industry should not sell to this cities police agencies or any Chicago agency and if they have to then it should be for full retail including bullets. No more discounts. The same should happen to california. The gun industry should flex it's muscle and not give any discounts to the governmental agencies of California, Chicago, New York, or Washignton D.C.. And someone should let the gun owners know who in the gun industry is cooperating and who is not so we can support those who are. But they must make it clear they did this on their own individual decision so conspiracy cannot be charged against the industry giving the feds the right to step in. I would not put it past daley to whine to them once his budget goes to he--.
Does anyone seriously think Daley or any of his anti-gun pals is ignorant of the truth regarding self defense or actual statistics? They are obviously evil, but I think very few are truly that stupid.
As satisfying as it might be to us, I seriously doubt any boycott would mean much to them at all, however widespread. I'm sure they'd have foreign sources, eager to supply them. We are not going to change their minds, and we're not going to change their agenda or methods.
We can't reason with rabid dogs.

Evil is as evil does. Daley's policies result in hundreds (or more) murders and he takes no responsibility, yet tries "more of the same". He is consumed with evil.

Would suspect that the "evil one" is not operating in a vacuum, but rather has support and legal advice from the Abominable Adminstration. Look for an appeal to the World Court becoming an excuse to enter into a treaty limiting or banning private gun ownership. You know how important it is for the US to join the rest of the "civilized" world...like France, England, Communist China, and that ever loving protector of human life, Mother Russia. It's the tail wagging the dog.
I have to say that I agree with Daley somewhat. I think he should appear before the World Court, charged with Crimes Against Humanity. Lord knows there is plenty of evidence against him.
Problem with that theory is that it lends legitimacy to the World Court. I believe we can handle that trial just fine in our own court system(s). Plenty of crimes can be laid at Daley's feet if any prosecutor just decided to go there.
Chicago's corruption makes Mexico's like child play. Chicagoans keep electing this guy Illinois the land of Lincoln more like corruption.
Insanity is expecting different results doing the same thing. Daly is one insane person.
If Daley really believed in what he is saying and doing, he would disarm his body guards.

Dave Codrea, if, as expected SCOTUS invalidates Chicago's handgun ban in McDonald, do you think the Sullivan Act in NYC will be challenged? After all, that was as reprehensible as the "black code" laws of the South, since it was promulgated by the Tammany Hall bosses as a way to disarm their opponents.
