Some say that more guns mean safer schools. I am one of those, and I can show you where more guns make schools safer.
More liberty, more affirmation of the second amendment and what it really means to American self-rule is what makes for safer schools. Understanding of the lethal force behind our supreme authority over our servants is what makes schools safer by dint of personal independence over dependency on anything but. When adult students are disarmed of handguns, their legal authority is also banned on campus. When adults are banned from being armed, parents visiting their kids on a lower school or high school campus are also disarmed of both lethal force and legal authority to act. All in the absence of first responders. This grows a dependency on servants which is incompatible with lIberty.

Last week, ABC news ran another Guns On Campus piece which takes the position of being against guns. The clip shows a very discredited 20/20 excerpt which took a lot of heat when first aired for being tricked up several different ways. Several of us criticized 20/20 for dressing up a non-gun owner student in oversized clothing and setting him up with improbable conditions which were not even close to the experiences of actual college shootings. The issue put forth in that 20/20 episode was whether being armed was futile.
One claim has been the ‘potential for violence', cited by ABC naming Virginia Tech as one example: that's silly, because Cho was a criminal. Cho could just as easily have used a truck. Let's not forget that the Columbine killers employed explosive devices planted around campus, but the emphasis is again on guns.
At 01:20 into the clip, CSU Ft. Collin Faculty Council Professor Richard Eykholt said on camera that they "...want students to feel comfortable getting into heated arguments [...] without having to worry about the presence of weapons in the room." Truly, how the elite think of the second amendment reflects what the elite think of the electorate.
The most aggressive anti-gun coverage in this ABC clip is the very narrow distortionof police quotes, misleading the issue. One such excerpt has ABC reporting that police have said that there is "...no credible evidence that students with concealed weapons make campuses safer."
Oh, really? Then, if we show more than credible evidence that they do, then we know more about the subject matter than the campus police. And ABC News, for that matter. Just how the armed student (or faculty member) makes a campus safer is well documented, and it would be good advice for ABC to ask gun owners next time.
Here's another factoid the anti-gun doesn't want you to know: many, many gun owners seek, obtain and complete training far beyond the minimum requirement to obtain a concealed carry permit. They do this for loved ones, for disaster preparedness, and for local disturbance safety. It wasn't a fair ‘experiment' then to ask a non-gun owner to sit in class and await a mock active shooter barging in for the cameras. Why not show America a more instructive experiment and have a mock active shooter come into a classroom where he meets an armed gun owner whose personal training has exceeded the requirement to carry his own concealed weapon?
Why not pick on somebody your own size? Who's the aggressor: the person who seeks preparedness training, or the person who wants to block that kind of independence from our servants?
Handgun training is available from former FBI agents, local Police officers, NRA instructors who instruct Police, among others, or from Military master instructors all for the private armed citizen. These courses are most reasonably priced and available throughout the year.
Americans do not consult the servants on how much authority and latitude we have: Americans instruct their servants on how little authority and latitude servants have and why, and that is what this is about.
