Repealing the Second Amendment: The Left v. The United States Tonight.

In a debate that is announced properly as a prize fight – aired on WGNRadio.com and elsewhere – the repeal of the Second Amendment to our Bill of Rights is now fiercely and seriously offered by the left in America.

For years, I’ve written on how relevant the armed citizen is in self-rule, to everyone, even to non-gun owners, and I can furnish a few key points for non-gun owners to apply in their following the debate. If you can’t make it to tonight’s debate on WGNradio.com, look for podcasts or other media re-broadcasting it.

We are experiencing scandals at this very hour which disregard our sovereign authority as the electorate. Much of how daring these scandals can be is founded on what officials had been able to discover about how far they can push gun owners in this country over the last few generations. Gunnies are often more properly described as liberty enthusiasts because it’s more about freedom than iron or shooting. Liberty enthusiasts generally exercise all their freedoms, including being armed wherever they have a right to be. It’s only consistent. Free people desire to be armed as part of their personal responsibility for self. It’s all about carrying our own burdens over being carried by others. In this insistence, thank you very much, there is no opposition to government, there is expectation from government to support freedom and independence from servants. Gun owners do not evade the law, we summon it, and expect officials to stick to it, not invent new latitude in powers never granted. Liberty enthusiasts remind the rest of the nation that citizens are the supreme authority in this country, and government is our servant. Expectations of that does not make you against government, it makes you in support of your servants, but oversight of your servants. That oversight is being defeated more every day.  Gun rights are the prime indicator of the overall health of the nation.

Until any actual repeal of the Second Amendment, it is the law of the land for the present, and until it is actually repealed, it must be respected by those claiming that we are a nation of laws. Make sense?

Until that very hour, then, the Second Amendment is absolute and for two reasons: 1) It is the lethal force which backs our authority as supreme authority under our system. Some dislike citizen independence. That’s too bad. 2) It was made to be impervious to due process because the Founders had experienced abuses of due process, something no human being should tolerate. They didn’t want generations of the future to tolerate abuses, either.

The Second Amendment did not imagine or fail to imagine weapons of the future; it’s not about weapons, but to understand that abuses of due process would come in any generation. Today, crime is an excuse to tighten a grip on the independence of citizens in the name of security or safety. Think of defiance of your refusal on National ID Card, as one more example.

But the important part is that liberty is important to all of us, as we are all beginning to experience something the gun owners had been experiencing — and predicting for others. Clearly now, and some may not want ot accept this, but what is tried and tested on gun owners has become the model for what is done to Americans in takings, vexing electorate authority, and utter defiance of law. Isn’t that what bothers you about the bailouts?

Please take notes tonight, and think of the banking scandals, the absolutely decerebrate remedies which only loot the nation and pass money around to everyone but the rightful owners of assets, and be sure to follow the entire program tonight. Remember to connect it all to other non-gun issues, such as replacing the U.S. Dollar, and other issues where we are ignored and taken. It may not seem connected, but it is. News on that topic is around the globe right now, almost bracing us for the bad news of replacing our currency. What gun owners who are nuts about their country will patiently tolerate or seem to under pain of penalties, the rest of the nation will tolerate as a pushover, not used to resisting. Gun owners are familiar with predators, and we know them when we see them.

Tonight’s show will talk about how the Armed citizen is obsolete in 2009, how we need to let the professionals handle unsafe streets, and other arguments which every citizen must weigh with critical analysis. Think how this affects your family in what you may or may not be permitted to do as before, and how the formula has been cloned into zero-tolerance, political correctness and other by now familiar go nowhere programs which all seem to go against our better judgment. And our wishes.

As I say often, many of us older persons will probably die in freedom, but our children will live under an immense bureaucracy large enough to take everything from you to give everyone more than they need. The purpose is those fees the middleman charges for facilitating it all.

What is at stake is the ability to instruct our servants or to be instructed by them.

Nut-burger. Meanwhile, in a parallel real world, people get along just fine without guns, plus they tend to get shot less often.

    Fine, repeal it.

There's just one little thing these pea-brains are forgetting. The 2nd Amendment doesn't GIVE us anything. It only ENUMERATES the rights we are endowed with by our creator.

Attempted confiscation of firearms AFTER the repeal of the 2nd Amendment trucks no better with me than confiscation BEFORE repeal of the 2nd Amendment. Both will be met with the same degree of force by those who refuse to take one more step back.

They've got us surrounded (again), the poor bas****s. - Creighton W. Abrams, Jr. (1914-1974)

In that parallel world without guns, feudalism thrives and, if you make it past the two year mark, you can look forward to another 25 or 30 years of life. True it is a life of working from dawn to dusk. However, before bed each you and your spouse can pick lice from each others hair. All the while wishing you could afford enough wine to numb the irritation from your flea bites.

Of course, you do get a half day on Sunday to go to Church and later in the day you can make ribald jokes about the sootikin some noble lady left behind.
