Memorial Day, 2010 and Election Day, 2010.

Today is the day we celebrate the sacrifices of our soldiers here at home and at their posts around the globe. They sacrifice personal time and dedication, they sacrifice their health and sometimes they give even their lives for our country. They sacrifice for our way of life. They sacrifice so that we may have the power to back the desire to help others around the world. Without freedom in self-rule, there would be no treasury nor any real will to help others anywhere with anything. Without the United States of America, no country would ever again do as well as it has, nor would it ever do better. It would first have to re-create the U.S. model of sovereignty and independence.

This is Memorial Day.

Like there are a hundred ways to say I love you, there are a hundred ways to thank a Soldier, a Marine, a Sailor, an Airman, a member of the U.S. Coast Guard, a Reservist and every Astronaut and Military Historian for their service, but one of the very best is to be a very good custodian of what it is they sacrificed for.

From one generation to the next, each individual is a direct beneficiary of their hourly service to the United States. Soldiers and pilots can be brave in any army or air force, but only when their nation behind them is brave and the people know they are righteous can their sacrifices have meaning to other nations. The United States is righteous and the very argument that we are somehow not is what we battle. Our national bravery and integrity are being depleted like a dying battery, and it must be turned around.

This November, we will not be voting for individuals per se as much as we will be voting for our country. Or not. America does not utilize leaders as much as we elect executives. This November, the Vote is everything.

Every involvement to protect the interests of the nation is patriotic. When it comes to donating time, energy and education, even individual servings of food and fellowship to poor people hungry for both, there is no donation which is too small. In America, there is no such thing as not making a difference in even the smallest contribution of time and involvement in educating others in liberty and independence from our public servants. Even in America, you never know who may be hearing the liberty message for the very first time. No such moments are too small a useful moment.

There are unpatriotic movements: every involvement to loot the country in demagoguery operates against the interests of the United States as it was conceived and declared. Every such movement of demagoguery seeks a brokerage fee of something of value: patriotism seeks only the thing of value of independence of all. From Independence comes the blessing.

Every voter needs to discern the difference between a vote for sovereignty and a vote for demagoguery, and muster the determination to protect the interests of the next generation from such abuses of process that demagoguery is. Each vote that one Tuesday this November can -- will -- reach across time into the future to be a hand of protection using the law and due process to better assure the safety and freedoms of our kids. That vote can come only from the present. In between elections, that same invisible hand can nominate who we want, ignore who we do not want, and affirm the understanding of our sovereignty in the very minds of our servants.

This November, we will have a chance to take the hand-off from our Military in the very same sentiment we have on Memorial Day for those who serve abroad and move things along here with those of us who serve at home. One day – just one day – we will take that hand-off and back up our troops whatever their mission around the world.

And they need to know it the rest of the year worldwide.

Good Hunting.

And Happy Memorial Day.

Thank you for your service.

unfortunately John, we have a habit of betraying our service members once our immediate need for them has been successfully eliminated by them.

Ain't that just a great commentary on our fellow countrymen.

We are protected by rough men willing to sacrifice for us and we do not deserve them.

Happy memorial Day. The citizens have only one set of question to ask themselves in November. Is the person I am voting for going to expand my rights or restrict them? Are they going to protect what our soldiers died for or subvert it into a socialized form of dictatorship. will this person listen to me or ignore me? Will they be a servant of the people or tell us to shut up because they know what is best and self serving? If you vote for someone like that regardless of your political party you have betrayed every veteran who has given his life for this country over the last 200 plus years and you have betrayed every veteran you stand next to. A real vet will fight for this country and volunteer as long as he is breathing and can hold a rifle/pistol. You never have to ask him or her. All we ask is that you do your part and protect this country and way of life from crooked politicans and bad laws. Is that too much to ask from a person willing to die for you and your family? I hope not.
