When your entire agenda is build on a foundation of lies and misconceptions, you have to continually guard against the truth getting out.
The gun control movement has always had to suppress uncomfortable truths. Places where their agenda has been mostly achieved, whether Chicago, New York City, DC, or overseas, continue to have high levels of violence. The gun bans haven't worked and the law abiding citizens are left defenseless.
Yet the lies continue.
“Anybody who thinks that the Obama administration is going to take away the gun rights of law-abiding citizens is paranoid,” says Peter Hamm, communications director of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.
The President of the United States, the Vice President of the United States, the Secretary of State, the Speaker of the House, and the U.S. Attorney General all have a background of strong support for gun control laws. Until recently, gun control proposals were even listed on the White House website. Yet, we're "paranoid" for thinking those politicians haven't given up on their anti-freedom viewpoints.
The truth is, they're biding their time until it can do the least damage. After the November 2010 elections, we'll see if they continue to conceal their true colors.
The gun grabbers also say we're being paranoid for concern about rising crime rates as the economy worsens and cash strapped cities are forced to law off police officers, yet the headlines continue to be filled with stories of violent criminal attacks.
Criminals don't turn in their guns and give up a life of crime when a gun "buyback" is held. They don't turn around and walk away when the bank they're planning to rob posts a "no guns" sign, and they don't even think twice about breaking any other of the more than 20,000 gun laws we have in this country.
The truth is that those who oppose gun ownership continue to do so. The recent boom in sales of guns and ammunition spoke loud and clear that the People do not support that agenda. All the propaganda in the world isn't going to change the facts. Gun control is a house of cards, don't believe the hype otherwise.

I have fire, windstorm, flood, and general casualty insurance on my house. I don't neccessarily believe or intend for these things to happen, but most people believe it prudent to be prepared in advance if any of these things happen. I have car and life insurance for similar reasons. In fact most people do.
I am liscensed by the State of Florida to carry a concealed weapon. I own, carry, and practice regularly with a Colt Mark IV Series 70 in .45 ACP. I do not believe an attack by a criminal is any more likely than a house fire, hurricane, or auto accident, but I do feel it prudent to be prepared if one occurs. Why does the left say that being armed is paranoid, but carrying life, homeowners, and auto insurance is not?

Ones lifetime chances of being killed in a car accident in the USA are slightly lower than the lifetime chances of being killed in a violent crime in the USA. CDC No one thinks its paranoid to wear a seatbelt for protection against car death. Why would it be paranoid to carry a gun for the best protection against violent crime?

I notice that lately when the Ray Schoenke types write an article with their usual misinformation, false implications, and foolishness, more and more the commenters and bloggers will in a very intelligent way debunk their enuendo point by point. Maybe people like you are turning their tide of lies. I hope so.

Paranoid? No. Knowing the intentions of someone evil and having the common sense to know that I am the sole responsibility of myself, is the only way I can be protected from such despair. I don't care if you sat these people down and beat them into submission until they saw the truth, there would still be an ounce of disbelief in the back of their minds. THESE IDIOTS WILL NEVER STOP WITH THE LIES AND PROPAGANDA UNTIL THE LAST OUNCE OF THEIR EGO IS DRIED UP, THEN STILL, IT WOULD BE NO SHOCK TO HEAR THEM UTTER THE WORDS< ANTI-GUN.
