Anti-gun movement gathering steam

Despite Americans across the country voting with their wallets and causing one of the largest spikes in gun sales in recent memory as a silent protest against the threat of new anti-gun measures by the Obama administration, the assault on those gun freedoms is gathering momentum.

With groups like the Brady Campaign calling for new gun control laws, such as renewing the "Assault Weapons Ban" and making it permanent, some liberal lawmakers are testing the limits to see what they can get away with under the new administration.

One such measure is an attempt to circumvent a gun ban by making ammunition inaccessible. Ineffective microstamping will not solve a single crime, but will serve to drive manufacturers out of business and price ammunition out of the reach of most Americans.

Another lie perpetuated by the gun grabbers is the "gun show loophole". Anti-gun pundits are pushing legislation in several states to try to outlaw private gun sales and shut down gun shows.

Here in Cleveland, the City is thumbing its nose at the state legislature and again claiming that statewide preemption of gun laws doesn't apply to them, despite a ruling by the Ohio Supreme Court in the OFCC v. Clyde case upholding the Constitutionality of preemption.

In Connecticut, a movement is underway that could enable the Department of Public Safety to shut down all gun ranges, except that those used solely by law enforcement personnel would be exempt.

Normally, we would look to the U.S. Attorney General to put a stop on these attempts to restrict our Constitutional Rights. But, with the apparent pending approval of Eric Holder as AG, the fox will indeed be guarding the henhouse.

Not since the Clinton years have we seen such a widespread attack on gun rights on so many fronts. The stakes couldn't be higher, and there is no time left to wait for the "other guy" to do something to protect your right to own and carry a gun for self defense. Grassroots activists are needed now more than ever, and if we fail, our rights will forever be lost.

Now is the time to draw the line in the sand. No more gun control. It never has and never will reduce crime.

Bravo Daniel. I do not think that anyone can sit idly by on this go around.

I think it is important to also note that Micro stamping would end reloading forever as well. Everyone would be forced to turn in every bit of uncoded ammunition that remained unfired at a specified date in time, or become an instant criminal. However, criminals will cast their own bullets, and reload their own ammunition and sell their new product to other criminals. Perhaps the Drug Dealers will just import the criminal’s uncoded guns and uncoded ammo in with their already illegal drugs.

I agree, we must draw that line in the sand. We must fight this with every bone in our body. Write letters, send emails, and make phone calls to representatives stating our disapproval. At the same time it's time to organize and be ready to march on Washington as an armed group and take back our Rights if necessary. If only 1% of gun owners respond, that would be over 1 million citizens. The Founding Fathers have warned us about this type of government and given us the tools to overcome it. WOW, it only took a little more than 200 years for our government to become so corrupt that they now are going after the only Right we have to remain free and to protect our other Freedoms. As the Patriots of 1776 fought against the British, we now find ourselves on that very same threshold, having to possibly fight for our freedoms again. I doubt our representatives have ever read the Bill of Rights with some of the legislation that they have come up with. Our Liberty is at stake and we must take every effort to exercise every option in keeping America truely free.

When has the Brady Campaign ever NOT called for new gun control laws? They are like the child at a family dinner who won't stop making a fuss so he gets sent to the corner and ignored.
