Another Toledo robber shot, this time killed

Sunday morning a little after 10am, a man entered Bengals Food Mart on Airport Road in Toledo wearing a woman's wig and threatening clerks with a handgun. According to witnesses, the robber fired at the clerks before one of them returned fire killing the suspect.

This was the second time in two days that a criminal was shot during an attempted robbery in Toledo. Friday, another robber was shot while trying to rob Allied Music. That criminal survived and is currently being held in the Lucas County jail.

It has been widely reported in the last few weeks that a record number of concealed carry licenses were issued in Ohio last year. Gun rights are once again becoming mainstream, despite the efforts of supporters of strict gun control, and crime has become more hazardous.

Disarming the law abiding has never had an effect on reducing crime as such laws pose no barrier to those who are not inclined to follow the law in the first place. For years, the anti-gun rhetoric held sway yet crime skyrocketed. Now, the gun control experiment is over and law abiding citizens are once more able to fight back and win when selected as the target of a criminal assault.

While it is unfortunate that a man lost his life over money, it was his own poor choices that lead him to threaten violence upon another.

Nice shooting! One less dirt-bag to burden the justice system. Think of all the money that was saved. The store owner probably kept someone else from getting robbed by the same guy later.

Our justice system is a joke. Criminals get a slap on the wrist and get spit back out so they can victimize more people. This is definitely a cure for crime.

I don't even want to here that bleeding heart crap about the bad economy and he was desperate... He was robbing someone with a gun and got himself killed. Too bad!

At this rate, Toledo's gonna have a shortage of criminals soon.

I hate that he lost his life, but when you pull a gun on another, return fire should be expected.

I doubt that there will ever be a shortage of criminals.

The old philosophy of giving the robber what he wants and don't resist is what caused this to become the problem that it is today. Bad guy waves a gun and everyone gives him money. It was a very safe occupation. Now, bad guy waves a gun and gets shot by the good guy. Its not so safe for the BG anymore.

Finally the law is starting to protect the rights of the good people instead of the criminal scum that prey on them.

Soon the goblins will either learn NOT TO, or be dead.
    Either way, less crime.

Being a criminal is like a box of chocolates...you never know what your gonna get.
