Federal Bureau of Investigation statistics show that in states with more gun control, Blacks are hindered from defending their lives, while Whites are not.
After extracting civilian justifiable homicide data from the FBI Supplement Homicide reports for 2000-2007, there are clear inequities between Blacks and Whites in states which restrict the right of self-defense by not granting concealed carry permits to law-abiding citizens. Conversely, in right-to-carry (RTC) states–where law-abiding civilians carry concealed handguns in public–Blacks experienced above-average rates of justifiable homicide.

GR8GUY, google Roy Innis of the Congress of Racial Equality. They've been saying EXACTLY this for years, and have been soundly ignored. I've seen him speak at several pro-RKBA events, and his bio on the CORE website proudly lists his NRA membership. Put his name and "RKBA" into a search engine and you'll see dozens of his appearances.

As with flavet, GR8 may be ignorant and not understand the consequences of his comment. If you can't supply effort to finding common ground with people outside your comfortable little box of 'people like me.' then you contribute to the problem, which you did find time and effort for. By supporting division, you support being conquered by those who wish us all ill. It’s also known as providing aid and comfort to the enemy. Is that what you truly want?

Mr. Nemerov's article strikes the very heart of the most racially charged question of our times. Are black Americans valued, respected, and trusted as white Americans are? States that do not have concealed carry laws are those with large urban centers with huge numbers of African-American citizens: Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, even Washington D.C. All incidentally are controlled by liberal democratic leadership. The Republican party was created in the early 1800's to ABOLISH slavery. It's also not a coincidance that more republicans than democrats support concealed carry laws. To deny anyone the only truly effective means of self-defense in a life-or-death incident is to really DENY them the right of self defense. Its too bad that African-Americans don't realize that the Heller decision was greatest equal rights decision since the voting rights act. Finally, God has granted us each individually, no matter the pigment in our skin, the right to self-defense; not the state.
