If you go in there on Friday, you will receive family sized portions of the following: Matzo Ball Soup, all natural Rotisserie Chicken, Mashed or Herb Potatoes, Sauteed String Beans with Garlic, and a whole freshly baked Challah.
For those of you in the know... this place offers delicious prime and choice dry aged meats as well as natural chickens, top quality veal, Australian lamb and gluten free products. Pomegranate Supermarket, a truly upscale Kosher market in Brooklyn, New York is kicking off its Meet the Celebrity Chef series this Wednesday, May 13th, 2009 with award-winning kosher cookbook author Susie Fishbein, known for her “Kosher by Design” series of books.
Fishbein is scheduled to prepare Middle Eastern Martinis and Creamy White Bean Hummos with Steeped Tomatoes. Be prepared to be wowed with her demonstration. She is terrific!
Pomegranate Market offers the freshest, most beautifully displayed produce, deli (did I say deli-counter? This is like the cocktail hour of a Bar Mitzvah with all the stations in place, including the carving ones!) and meat products plus an plethora of grocery staples. Their spice aisle is filled with hard to find varieties. Their paper plate section is the best I have ever encountered outside of a Party City.
Pomegranates' prices are slightly higher than an average non-kosher market, however, they are priced properly for their customers and they offer many specials and deals. It could be the most pleasant food shopping experience outside of Whole Foods.
