Orange foods and Ciao Bella Sicilian Blood Orange Sorbet are all October treats

Ciao Bella Blood Orange Sorbet
Ciao Bella Blood Orange Sorbet is wicked good

October is a perfect month to get your groove on eating all food the color orange. Move away from the obvious, THE ORANGE, which by this time of year is coming into the stores in groves, I mean, droves. Look towards the fresh produce, onto the dairy aisle and even into the snack's section. Lot's of delicious orange food is to be found in and around the grocery store!

What's so great about fresh orange foods? They contain a boatload of beta-carotene (a relative of alpha-carotene), which is a primary nutrient responsible for the bright orange and yellow colors in foods. Together, alpha and beta carotene in the body converts into vitamin A.

Why is Vitamin A good for me? Vitamin A benefits the body by maintaining the linings of the organs (e.g. eyes, respiratory tract, urinary tract, and intestinal tract). When these tissues are healthy, bacteria have difficulty growing and viruses are prevented from attacking and making us sick.
Why else should we be eating fresh orange foods? Diets rich in alpha- and beta-carotenes have been linked with lower risks of certain cancers and a lower risk of heart disease. These antioxidants are also key players in the health of the immune system, eyes, skin and bones.

They are THAT good for you? Yes.They may help slow the aging process, perhaps even slowing or stopping the development of age-related diseases like dementia and Alzheimer’s.

What about Frozen or dried fruit?  That works.  Mango's, apricots, papaya.

I need a Frozen Treat! Try Ciao Bella Blood Orange Sorbet (perfect snack for a healthy Halloween).

What's Great about this sorbet?  Ciao Bella Sicilian Blood Orange Sorbet is icy, tart, a little bit sweet and creamy... but not super-creamy like processed sherbet products.  Ciao Bella Sorbet is naturally creamy and is also quite refreshing with an exotic citrus overtone that really stands out in this elegant dessert.

Is it high in fat?  Each cup of blood orange sorbet has only 98 calories, 0 (zero!) fat, 5 mg. of sodium and 24 g. of carbs.

Find Ciao Bella's Sorbet in your local market and and specialty stores around Long Island. Each pint retails for approximately $4.50. Blood Orange flavor is Kosher-starK, Pareve.
