Chandra Wilson to present at Tony Awards

'Grey's Anatomy' star Chandra Wilson has been named as a presenter at the 63rd Annual Tony Awards. The ceremony, which honors the best of Broadway will take place at New York's Radio City Music Hall on June 7.

It's quite fitting that The Broadway League would look to the cast of 'Grey's Anatomy' when compiling its guest list for the gala, considering the show's many ties to The Great White Way. 'Grey's' creator Shonda Rhimes is a self-professed Broadway nut, and often looks to the stage when casting roles on the show. Seattle Grace has been visited by many Broadway legends, including Bernadette Peters and Ben Vereen (just to name a few). Wilson herself is an accomplished stage actress, having appeared on Broadway in On The Town, Avenue Q, and Caroline, or Change. She'll next be seen taking over the role of Matron "Mama" Morton in Chicago while 'Grey's' is on summer hiatus from June 8 through July 5.

Wilson won't be the only familiar face to 'Grey's' fans at this year's Tony Awards. Kate Burton, who appeared on the show as Meredith's mom Ellis Grey, and Audra McDonald of 'Private Practice' are also slated to present. You can check out CBS's live broadcast of the ceremony starting at 8:00 pm EST.
