Holistic living center opens on Beverly Blvd.

 

I first met Stahsha Stanowicz, a kind-hearted young woman with sparkling eyes, in the space that would become Heaven on Earth. Recently, she shared with me her passion behind the dynamic atmosphere that her brainchild, Heaven on Earth Holistic Living Center, tends to create.

 

The center hosts a Grand Opening Celebration this month, featuring free demo classes of yoga, fitness, and dance, as well as free demos from a wide variety of spiritual healing practitioners. From noon to 6pm Saturday, Sept. 19^th , it will kick off with food, music, unique gifts, and even mini-sessions at special discounts, in addition to the free demos. See www.heavenonearthla.com for the full scoop.

 

Marie Rains: Why the name "Heaven on Earth"?

Stahsha Stanowicz: I came up with the name Heaven on Earth as I pondered what this Center is truly all about; it became clear it is about heaven and earth merging within the heart of every human being. This is what it means to be fully human, to embody heaven on earth. The classes and events offered at the Center, from Laughter Yoga to Theta Healing to Art Exhibits, all support the expression of the human spirit, which can become so limited in the society we live in. We hope to help one another learn, grow and live from the heart, and the next thing you know, we’ll have heaven on earth!

 

M.R.: Who is the center for?

S.S.: Heaven on Earth Holistic Living Center is for the community; to connect, learn, grow and share positive solutions for all areas of life; health, spirituality, the environment, the arts, etc. More specifically, it is for anyone wishing to make a positive change in their life, whether they seek to get in great shape, learn a new healing modality or meet great people; all are welcome, young and old, the hip and not-so-hip; you’re always welcome at Heaven on Earth.

 

I would say, too, we offer many classes that could be considered “on the cutting edge”: the latest healing modalities like Theta Healing and Psych-K; new, exciting classes such as Chakradance from Australia, and Laughter Yoga, which came out of India over the past decade. Also, Permaculture, while new in name, is based on ancient concepts of how to live in balance with the natural world. These classes and concepts are not well known to many people, and we’d like Heaven on Earth to be a place for folks to come and check out some of these new ways of living and hopefully be uplifted and inspired by them.
