When it comes to making fun family memories, a picture is worth quite a bit. Most all Rockford families have some form of photo album, but why stop there? Creating a scrapbook can add more depth to the memories while helping repurpose paper products at the same time.
Now, in order to maintain an earth-friendly scrapbook, follow one simple rule-purchase as little as possible! Most of us can find a scrapbook or photo album lying around, or can fashion one from a three ring binder from last year’s school shopping at Office Depot. Take advantage of these, and start keeping an eye out for things to put in there aside from pictures.
Taking a vacation? Save your airline tickets from Chicago Rockford International Airport, a napkin from a nice restaurant, and that little scorecard from mini-golf. Birthday parties? Put strips of streamers, small sections of wrapping paper and pictures cut out from cards your kids received right along photos from the day. Stick a few pieces of your kids artwork, or a heartfelt letter in the book to look back on later.
Having other items from the experience to look back in is much more meaningful than simply picking up some stickers from Jo-Ann Fabrics & Crafts to adorn your pages- this makes the entire book, not just the pictures, chock full of memories.
