Recycling glass bottles requires a tremendous amount of energy. Before recycling, it's important to reuse anything you can. That's exactly what Kyle Branderhorst from Lancaster, Pennsylvania does. Kyle owns Lets Get Lit Candles, which produces what they call Glow Green. These are repurposed beer and liquor bottles that are shaped into cups and pitchers for use in a home or restaurant.
Large vodka bottles like Grey Goose are shaped into modern pitchers that can be used for any beverage. The glass has a very ecletic, yet finished look to it and would make a great edition to any bar or table. Glassware can be bought by the individual cups or pitcher, or by the set.
Popular designs are Rolling Rock, Corona, Stone IPA, Grey Goose, Tanqueray and many more that give you choices in color ranging from clear or frosted to brown and green. Don't see your favorite libation? Kyle is more than happy to make if for you.
Besides glassware, they also make candle holders and jewelry. Using as much of the bottle as they can, even items like the mouth of the bottle are converted into glass rings for finger sizes 8-9.
Reducing the amount of glass that needs recycled creates a positive impact on the environment. Because different colors of glass are made from adding a coloring agent to the glass, it must be hand sorted so that the same color glass goes in one pile to create more of that exact color. This inefficient recycling system means that reusing glass bottles in different way will help save a lot of time and headaches at the recycling center.
Pitchers are $19.99 and cups start at $9.99 with shipping options as low as $5. Glass can be ordered online at www.letsgetlitcandles.com.
There are deals for buying more, so don't be afraid of reaching out.

Very cool.
Except I don't wanna pay! Any ideas on how-to-do-it-yourself safely? (Limited of course to cups --- as an example, not pitchers & mugs)
Very cool.
thank you Jamie.
That is so cool!
This is one of the best "green" ideas around! My friends and family enjoy receiving these special bottles as gifts year round. They are artsy, environmentally friendly and a creative way to remember special occasions as well!
