Summer’s abundance is here and if you value quality and healthy choices you should visit the Geist Farmers’ Market located at Holy Cross Lutheran Church Indianapolis, at the corner of Fox Rd. and Oaklandon Rd. Vendors offer Holstein beef, organic cheese and butter, hand-made personalized embroidery items, hand-sewn bags, gourmet chocolate truffles, glass jewelry, beach towel tote bags, and gooseberry pies.
Consumers will come who want to have healthier, tastier or higher quality choices and who want to support local farmers and artisans. Local vendors are ever changing and here are some you might want to support:
Karen Corley, Cathy Trieschman and Sandy Wampler operate Sandy Beach Totes by 3 Gals, a creative invention of colorful beach towels that you fold into a tote with handles included for use at the beach, pool, gym, shopping or whatever creative use you can imagine.
They can even double as a diaper bag and changing mat for babies. This team of three ladies made the choice to go into business together and say they have really enjoyed the products themselves, their camaraderie and the Farmers’ Market venue.
Julie Bolejack of Shelbyville is the founder of Chocolate for the Spirit, Indulgence for the Soul. Her chocolate truffles are the epitome of what chocolate should be.
