Ditch your car with the Chicago Card Plus/I-Go Card

Have you been considering taking the car-free leap to save money and do your part for global warming? It recently got a little easier to go car-less in Chicago with the Chicago Card Plus/I-Go Card, which allows you to use CTA buses and trains and take advantage of I-Go Car Sharing's fleet of fuel-efficient vehicles!

What is car sharing?
Car sharing is a service that provides members access to great cars on an hourly basis. After becoming a member of the service, you are able to reserve cars that are parked throughout the city for the amount of time that you choose. Car sharing is a way for people who don't own cars to have access to vehicles as needed for short-term needs. It's economical, convenient and very eco-friendly! I-Go has about 200 cars like Toyota Prius's, Honda Civics and Honda Elements that are probably located right in your neighborhood. To make the process super easy, you can join, manage your membership and find and reserve cars all online.

The Chicago Card Plus/I-Go Card
The CTA and I-Go have partnered to offer this one-stop-shop for alternative transportation in Chicago. Just like the regular Chicago Card, this new card allows you to ride the CTA and maintain your balance online, but you can also access I-Go cars, which are often located near CTA stations and bus stops. The Chicago Card Plus/I-Go card is available to new applicants who currently do not have an I-GO Car Sharing membership. Existing Chicago Card Plus account holders can obtain a CCP/I-GO Card by first establishing a new I-GO membership account.
