Tuesday night just became EcoTuesday at Santa Monica's Border Grill

There's a new far-reaching sustainable business event called EcoTuesday. Now when I say its far-reaching, I mean it. EcoTuesday is a nationwide sustainable business leaders networking forum that takes place in different cities on the fourth Tuesday of every month which, incidentally is, tomorrow night.

EcoTuesday's agenda begins with an interactive dialogue followed by a distinguished speaker from the sustainable business community. These monthly forums are instrumental to developing ongoing dialogue focused on sustainable business. Currently in Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Seattle, Silicon Valley, and Washington DC, EcoTuesday creates opportunities for sustainable business leaders to network and learn about current issues from innovative speakers as well as other attendees who are in the sustainable business field.

During introductions, participants share their business, passion or interest around sustainability. A powerful online business network is the sustainable by-product of EcoTuesday. Between events, participants can create online profiles within the global community directory and create groups based on specific interests or geographic regions.

EcoTuesday's co-founder Nikki Pava's passion is to create awareness so that people can make healthier choices in their businesses and lives. Pava earned her MBA from the Presidio School of Management in San Francisco, one of the world’s leading educational institutions for sustainable management. Recently, Pava worked for Burning Man LLC on its five-year sustainability plan, with Williams-Sonoma on a project to decrease waste in their stores and as a marketing consultant with the Morrison & Foerster law firm to help them establish their new Cleantech Practice.

Co-Founder Oren Jaffe is a Sustainability Executive specializing in helping clients develop and implement their corporate sustainability, environmental management, and/or ethical supply chain programs. Oren recently worked for Bureau Veritas (BV) Consumer Products Services managing the social compliance division which helps Fortune 1000 clients understand the business/brand opportunities associated with having a transparent and sustainable supply chain.

Tomorrow night's EcoTuesday takes place at the Border Grill in Santa Monica at 7:00 pm. The speaker is Jamie Oaxaca, an engineer and scientist and highly distinguished speaker. Oaxaca has received several presidential appointments and offers a highly qualified viewpoint on what it means for the US to be a sustainable country.  At tomorrow night's EcoTuesday, Oaxaca will examine how environmental sustainability cannot exist without socioeconomic sustainability as well as what drives this relationship in the business world.

EcoTuesday has opportunities on their website for sponsorships as well as for ambassadors to set up future EcoTuesday events. If you're interested in sustainable business, networking or looking for a job, this is definitely a business event to attend.

Great post Vicki! We need more networking opportunities like this one so that innovative green ideas can take root in our community. I will not be able to make it there tonight. Do you know when the next one will be? Also, you should think about hosting an event. You are very knowledeable on these types of subjects!!
