The latest celebrity gossip from the White House press corp is not a laughing matter unless you are a person who has no fondness for the nation's most controversial president Barack Obama. Obama stitches are making headline news tonight because the rumor President Obama received 12 stitches from a basketball injury is has been confirmed without a doubt. United States President Barack Obama had to get 12 stitches after the leader of Hispanic caucus busted his presidential lip during a Thanksgiving weekend pick up game on the White House lawn basketball court on November 26, 2010 says Green Celebrity News Network, bringing a whole new Black and Blue meaning to the first family's Black Friday (original article excerpt below).

Obama in stitches is no laughing matter. [Nov. 26]

Celebrity gossip sources and entertainment journals first reported President Obama needed 12 stitches on his lip after taking an elbow to the face during a fierce morning basketball game.

The event was even caught on an unauthorized video as an opposing player smacked his elbow to President Barack Obama’s face.

The video shows a bloody Obama leaving the basketball game; according to the White House staff, he received stitches from the White House doctor and was not taken to a hospital

Obama was later videotaped through a White house window while he was being treated. Obviously, the Paparazzi who took the shots of both scenes may stand to make a small fortune by taping the president, but the fact they were able to get the footage and air it live is a bit disturbing for national security.

The White House released an "official statement" about the injury and President Obama’s stitches:

“After being inadvertently hit with an opposing player’s elbow in the lip while playing basketball with friends and family, the President received 12 stitches today administered by the White House Medical Unit. They were done in the doctor’s office located on the ground floor of the White House.”

Sources present at the scene say Rey Decerega, director of programs for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, is the man who busted Obama’s lip.

There is no word if there has been any sort of tense animosity between the African-American political leader and the Hispanic Caucus representative in the past (personal or professional).

Decerega released the following statement about the incident to try to ease any perception that there may be any form of racial or personal tension between he and the president:

“I learned today the president is both a tough competitor and a good sport. I enjoyed playing basketball with him this morning. I’m sure he’ll be back out on the court again soon.”

While we're sure Obama will play basketball again, we doubt his security advisers will all it to be with this guy anytime soon.

It will be interesting to see how a new scar on the presidents lip changes all the images Americans see of the president. Will he have plastic surgery to remove the scar, air brush photos to hide the damage, or will he pull a Gorbachev and demand the blemish be left in full view on any artistic images or political celebrity likeness?

Whatever happens, the green celebrity president is likely to take the Thanksgiving day weekend "Black Friday" strange news assault without publicly sharing a grudge.

Why?

Because he is Barack Obama -- and turning the other cheek is his humanitarian social and political philosophy.
