Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne wins Audi fuel-efficiency driving challenge

Just as in football, including the XLIV Super Bowl, we drivers encounter all kinds of obstacles on the road, and have to adapt instantly to changing conditions.  Maybe that's why a star quarterback turns out to be such a great driver.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne is the winner of a competition between sports writers and on-air reporters and athletes to see who could squeeze the best fuel-efficiency out of a 2010 Audi Q7 TDI clean diesel.  It was more than a 100-yard dash.  More even than 100 miles.  The route was between the frigid temperatures Herndon, Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C., where Audi's US headquarters are located, and the and the warmer weather of Miami, and the XLIV Super Bowl.

Henne achieved an average of 32.6 MPG for the route, pretty impressive considering the size and power of the 2010 Audi Q7 SUV.  But this is a diesel, which gets better mileage than conventional gas engines, and the clean technology kicks out fewer emissions, too.

Henne won $20,000, which Audi is donating in his name to his charity of choice, Berks County Community Foundation.  Henne was racing against a group that included Bill Simmons of ESPN.com, and Mike Silver of Yahoo! Sports,  and fellow football player Osi Umenyiora of the New York Giants.

The Audi Efficiency Challenge was designed to showcase the mileage and performance possibilities that Audi TDI clean diesel technology provides in real-world driving conditions.

The Audi Efficiency Challenge for Charity served to support this year's Audi Super Bowl commercial, which features the 2010 Audi A3 TDI, which was named "Green Car of the Year," at the Los Angeles Auto Show in December 2009.  The 2010 Audi A3 TDI beat out such fuel efficient competitors as the Toyota Prius and the Honda Insight to win the coveted award.

Audi also is back in the game as a Super Bowl advertiser, running several ads with a 'green police' theme.

It's a good thing that this wasn't a Toyota event. He might have won a car that needed to be recalled. Lol, Another Giant in an industry is falling. I heard on the news that there are whistle blowers who claim that Toyota officials destroyed documents which had these problems written on them, all for the sale of there vehicles. I also hear of a Prius recall, is this true?
