Boston businesses go green to create an eco-friendly planet
Boston businesses are going green, and in a big way! Local chapters of the Small Business Administration are hosting free workshops to support the green business movement.
These workshops will feature speakers touching on topics such as:
- Sustainable business practices
- Environmentally-friendly offices
- Holistic design and space planning
- Reduce, reuse and recycle
June 2009 Green Business Workshops
June 4th - 8:30am to 10:30am - Going Green with Your Company - The Enterprise Center at Salem State College, speaker: Margaret Somer. Free. 90% of consumers say they prefer eco-conscious products and services. Sustainable business practices can help small firms shrink expenses while increasing sales. No matter what you sell, learn how to build a sustainable and successful green business while helping to eliminate toxins and improve the environment.
June 9th - 6:30pm to 8:30pm - Starting a Green Business - Boston Public Library, speaker: panel of speakers. Free. This program will feature a panel of speakers who have green businesses or who have resources to help you start a business that is "green". We're defining a "green business" as one that offers its clients a sustainable way to accomplish their goals and which does its work in an environmentally friendly way.
June 16th - 6:30pm to 8:30pm - Greening your Business - Boston Public Library, speaker: panel of speakers. Free. Will feature another panel, including: Galen Nelson, Green Tech Business Manager at the Boston Redevelopment Authority; Laura Catanzaro, owner of the business Holistic Design + Space Planning; and Dmitriy Nikolayev, board member of Mass Recycle. Information will be available from Mass Recycle ( www.massrecycle.org) which offers the "College of Green Offices", showing businesses how to "green" businesses and save money.
