Shengyin Xu, LEED AP, is the Institutional Sustainability Specialist for the Minnesota Historical Society. She is working on a sustainability audit of the Society's 26 historic sites that will help identify opportunities the institution can take to ‘green’ itself. Shengyin holds a B.S. in Architecture, Masters of Science in Architecture and Sustainable Design. As an architect, she has worked on modern and historic building projects. Recently, her work has focused on sustainability research, including acting as the project manager and media liaison for the University of Minnesota’s 2009 Solar Decathlon, and as the main researcher for an Ecological Footprint study of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area.
