Arkansas Tea Party Rally to feature speaker who says thousands will be dead in streets in revolt

Message at April 18 Tea Party rally

At the rally a computer made by a Japanese company manufactured in Communist China will be given away in a raffle.

The Arkansas Tea Party Movement has announced that on Monday, June 15th, citizens from across Arkansas who are concerned about the Obama program to cut taxes and stimulate the economy will rally. Their message is to support the values that they assert laid the foundation for the United States’ freedom and greatness: individual liberty and free market ideals. The rally, to be held at the River Market Amphitheater from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, will feature speakers from around Arkansas and entertainment including Bob Basso, commonly known as “Thomas Paine” on YouTube and the Glenn Beck Show.

Basso says in the video below that just like the American Revolution thousands will be dead in the streets if Obama is not stopped. He further asserts that America is a “uni-cultural” society and that multi-culturalism will lead to the country’s destruction. He postulates that if Islamic women are allowed to wear “neck scarves” over their face for driver’s license pictures then Klan members can wear their hoods. He apparently believes that by posing as an historical revolutionary figure that his hate speech is more palatable. From the recent murder of a health care provider in Kansas to this week’s killing at the U.S. Holocaust Museum the cries of revolution continue to be treated as marching orders by some leaving us all in peril.

What is so wrong about the right to fight your government? Even dissolve it? In my state's constitution it says:
"Article 1. That all Government of right originates from the People, is founded in compact only, and instituted solely for the good of the whole; and they have, at all times, the inalienable right to alter, reform or abolish their Form of Government in such manner as they may deem expedient. Art. 6. That all persons invested with the Legislative or Executive powers of Government are the Trustees of the Public, and, as such, accountable for their conduct: Wherefore, whenever the ends of Government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the People may, and of right ought, to reform the old, or establish a new Government; the doctrine of non-resistance against arbitrary power and oppression is absurd, slavish and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind."

"and all other means of redress are ineffectual,"

We still get to vote and as long as we do and we continue to put these people back in office then we get what we deserve. That doesn't however give us the right to remove them from office by the use of violence.

What people are really saying when they defend "fight[ing] the government" is that if the majority doesn't agree with them then they get to use force to overthrow the majority elected government.

Your headline is a gimmick to gin up interest at the expense of the truth. Using the first American Revolution as an example, Basso is saying UNLESS we stop what is happening to our country we could end up in a bloody scene.

Basso did not say, . . .” thousands will be dead“ . . . “if Obama is not stopped.” Basso does not mention Obama: He mentions progressivism. This is the new, cuddly word given to repackaged fascism, socialism, or communism which— though it may not be so in this case— are ideologies that have resulted in “bloody scenes.” However, Bosso calls for a revolution “not of guns and violence.”

You say, “citizens . . . concerned about the Obama program to cut taxes and stimulate the economy will rally.” We are not destracted by what Obama SAYS. We are concerned about what he DOES in his program to redistribute wealth, raise taxes and fees, take over private companies and banks, set up a nanny state, and shackle our posterity with obscene debt.

You skip all the great points made by Basso to pick out one example which you leave hanging as a racist insinuation. I think his facetious use of the KKK emphasized the irony of using ones beliefs as an excuse to hide a womans face while trying to exercise a liberty banned in many Muslim countries by that same belief. If you think I’m being insensitve pretend we are talking about Creationists and it won’t bother you at all.

You accuse Basso of “hate speech.” Do you hate, hate speech? Well, I have some hate speech for you: I hate ignorance. I hate injustice. I hate the destruction of my country and liberty. I hate the loss of our respect and knowledge of our history. I hate the violent deaths Dr. Tiller perpetrated on those children. I hate that some bozo killed him giving an opportunity for people to smear the pro-life movement. I hate how that kind, innocent, dad working at the Museum was killed by that creep. I hate how the thought police use the accusation of “hate speech” to vilify those who disagree with them. We are not violent or hateful. We ARE sick and tired of silly political correctness.

I do not hate you, but you annoy me. Basso presented lots of substantive, provocative material. It seems “Common Sense” is lost on you. If so, we really are in peril.

Where is the anger with Bush/Cheney who led us into an illegal war over oil? Where is the anger when Reagan lowered the tax rate on the rich from 70% to 34% and started the destruction of our economic system? Where is the anger toward the insurance/pharma companies making billions of dollars off us/citizens? Bob Basso is no Thomas Paine and to say so, is to say you don't know your history. PLEASE .... check out Thomas Paine yourself ... he was a true American with "socialist" tendencies, like the kind which brings us medicare/medicaid, social security, the VA hospitals, our post offices, and other community services that we take for granted as "socialism." We'll always be a capitalistic society but we need to be a fair and kinder capitailistic society. What is so wrong with that? Take care .... Peace

A illegal war for oil? If so why are we paying $70 a barrel?

Prosperity does not come from high tax rates and government spending. Lower taxes puts money in the hands of the consumer. Higher taxes make people spend less, because they HAVE LESS.

rnrstar ... they have the right to vote in N. Korea and Cuba, but we all know it is a sham. This is quickly becoming the case here, with Chicago/Obama/ACORN/Progressive corruption.

When we reach the point at which our country no longer looks or acts like the one set forth by the intent of our founders and the Constitution, this will be the point at which people should rebel.

In a pluralistic culture, Truth is lost, and in a "tolerant" country or culture, intolerance is heightened. Take time to look at the posts, and analyze the intolerance that is spewed in the name of freedom of speech. To be tolerant is to tolerate everyone, which includes people with factual evidence, people that speak the Truth with Love and not Hate oozing from the lips (or fingers). Every person is a hypocrite, and those who live and walk in Truth, are the first to state that reality. Yes, I can be intolerant, and I become intolerant with those who have no logical support for their presuppositions in life. To be tolerant, requires patience and thoughtfulness. But be clear of one thing, there is always absolute Truth in every given situation, whether in politics, education, religion, love, etc... and to walk through life distorting the truth as lies is like walking down a path that leads to destruction. Common sense is avoiding destruction, and that is what this man is saying...

    Psychopathy-
Lack of a conscience in conjunction with a weak ability to defer gratification and/or control aggressive desires, often leads to antisocial behaviors. Psychopathy does not necessarily lead itself to criminal and violent behavior. Instead, psychopaths high in social cognition may be able to redirect their antisocial desires in a different, non-criminal manner.
Psychopaths (and others on the pathological narcissism scale) low in social cognition are more prone to violence against others, failure in occupational settings, and problems maintaining relationships.

I think that sums up the neo-nazi... I mean neo-conservative (snicker, snicker, LOL) movement. Ya know guys, it is much easier to see the REAL world when you don't have your head packed so tightly up your butts...just a thought. Have a nice day..else where

Okay, they, the murderers, were both loony; that is the only thing they have in common. The murderer at the museum was anti-Jew and a socialist, not a capitalist. The abortion doctor killer was just nuts. You forgot the black muslim that killed a military recruiter. The poor recruiter was just 26 years old, fresh out of boot camp. The muslim was a black separatist, like Jeremiah Wright, that didn't believe in the wars. Who should we blame that hate speech on? He had to be influenced by somebody spewing hate speech about the wars; Code Pink or MOVEON, maybe Matthews or Olberman? So, okay you may have a point. We have to start watching ... the socialist!

And just so you know it is T.E.A. parties. Taxed Enough Already not Tea the drink; it is analogous. If you like the idea of bailing out millionaires and giving failed CEOs bonuses go a long with the progressives (read: socialist). I don't know about you, but I work hard for what I have and I really don't want it going to some millionaire.
Middle America is starting to stand up. We are black, white, red, and yellow, both democrat and republican, but most of all American. We know, in the past, socialism has been tried in this country and around the world. It didn't work then and it won't work now.
We were told we have to make sacrifices while the White House takes a photo op over Manhattan. It is time for Washington to make sacrifices. The federal government needs to go back to its original tenets; provide for the common defense and regulate interstate commerce. That is the only change we need.

I am more offended at the hyped myth of "capitalist values" being espoused than the nihilist ravings of revolt in the streets. Many are being forced into destitution and downward mobility because of the triumph of capitalism. When the capitalist fails he gets a ride on the taxpayer's back while everyone else's downfall is due to some perceived moral or intellectual failing. There are many banners out there for revolt right left and otherwise. Pick your poison while the fat cats in Washington and Wall Street get a free pass.

I got to be one you guy's Stick of Awakening just the other day. My story may be instructive for others.

I'm 55, I've been out of work for about 3 years now and I have a semi-invalid wife. I live in the Rio Grande Valley south of Albuquerque with a lot of rednecks. I was walking into Walmart to do some shopping with my foodstamps when I saw a twenty-ish looking guy with tats, a beard and wearing a T-shirt with the following message:

    "Liberalism Causes Terrorism"

So I politely walked over and introduced myself. Then I proceeded to inform him WHY he BETTER HOPE his T-shirt was wrong. I told him that since I was:

    1. A liberal socialist

    2. A US Navy Vietnam Veteran

    3. A specialist in the disciplines of telecommunications, semiconducter processing, precision-guided and nuclear weaponry.

I would be HIS worst nightmare.

Then I shook his hand and went in to do my shopping.

Now I HAVE considered working for al Qaeda...BUT THEY REMIND ME TOO MUCH OF THE MORMONS.
