On April 30, 2010, Rachel Coleman was here in the Twin Cities. She was at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Maple Grove, Minnesota. She performed songs and signs for everyone in attendance.
When she appeared on the stage, she explained her surprise at the number of people - she expected the "first couple of rows." Though I didn't count them, there were probably 300 people there!
We attended because our son suffers from apraxia of speech - finding her Signing Time shows was a blessing for us, we often state that Rachel Coleman helped give our grandson his voice. When he could not articulate words, he could sign them. The signs that she teaches to children is like opening a window to let in the fresh air. Our grandson was able to communicate with us much more easily once he was taught some sign language.
At the end of the show, we were able to meet Rachel. I told her thank you from a grandpa who really appreciates what she does.
My grandson's comment to Rachel?
"I see you on my TV before."
As an aside - Signing Time is in need of a sponsor for their programming. Please contact them directly through this webpage.
