Later this month well-known New York politicos and Young Democrats from across the countrry will gather together in New York City for the Young Democrats of America Winter National Conference.
The event will be unlike most Young Democrats national meetings and according to state president Matthew Silverstein will open with "Live from New York it's YDA," a short, but funny opening segment welcoming the hundreds of young Democrats from across the country to New York City and introducing them to the weekend's festivities.
In a message sent out moments ago, Silverstein wrote:
For those of you who expected the same old Welcome Reception, THINK AGAIN! Its New York City, and we do things a little different here. We'll pay tribute to Saturday Night Live, one of our most celebrated television shows. It won't be 90 minutes long, but it will include a Weekend Update-type of segment with a preview of the weekend's festivities and some of the people you will see at the meeting. It will be informative and FUNNY! Join us for this one time only welcome reception in the Big Apple.
New York fare will be served. That's right we are talking Hot Dogs and Pizza baby! Oh yeah and of course we will have drinks!
The Examiner will bring you comprehensive coverage of the opening reception and highlights of the weekend's festivities.
