The latest statistics are out. According to an independent university group, who reviews complaints filed with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), airline service continues to improve. I’d believe this report if I wasn&rsquo...
H. Michael "Mike" Mogil currently wears many hats, just as he has done so in the past. These, plus the myriad of experiences he has had and/or observed provide a basis for some serious and not-so-serious opinions. These experiences have included global travel, working in both government and private sector circles, battling City Hall (in 2010 he fought a red light camera ticket in Naples, FL and won) and working as a meteorologist, science writer, math tutor and student mentor.
Because Mike believes in learning from mistakes (not repeating them), because he is a critical thinkers and because he loves to tell stories, he’s not bashful about sharing his opinions, especially as they relate to political situations. However, all of his articles have an intended purpose – to get readers to think about the situation or problem being posed. He doesn’t expect resolution and certainly doesn’t expect everyone to agree with him. Rather, he’s looking for thought and possible discussion. And, perhaps some people will be able to use the information to their advantage (economically, socially, educationally or otherwise.)
Mike has written as the Fort Myers, FL Weather Examiner since January 2010, publishing, on average, one article every three days. He has also begun writing nationally-focused articles as national weather and national education examiners.
He has both B.S. and M.S. degrees in meteorology from Florida State University and is a Certified Broadcast and Certified Consulting Meteorologist (ranking awarded by the American Meteorological Society). He has written numerous books on science experimentation and extreme weather. He is a frequent contributor on the Dave Elliott radio talk show (WGUF-FM; Naples, FL). He has served as the head of a large community civic association, testified before school boards and city/county boards and provided media support for a Rockville, MD mayorial campaign.
Mike and his wife, Barbara, live in Naples, FL. There, they run the Mathworks Tutoring Center and also love taking long walks with their dog, Pepper.
