Jasmine Sagginario - Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing
Middle Tennessee's 15-year-old singer/songwriter Jasmine Sagginario was named Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing last week after nearly three months of nationwide competition. The news was announced on December 11 by Radio Disney’s Ernie D. When told she had won the competition, Jasmine told Radio Disney, “I'm shaking and crying and screaming at the same time…I feel so blessed and honored.”
Nashville's Brad Schmitt interviewed the bubbly Franklin teen, and she talked about how excited she was to hear she had won Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing competition, comparing it to a sugar high. "I had like natural energy excitement without the sugar!"
As the winner of Next Big Thing, Jasmine’s pop single, "Make A Movie," will be featured in the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie "StarStruck" and on the "StarStruck" soundtrack. Jasmine also talked about being the opening concert act for worldwide teen heartthrob Justin Bieber commenting that her friends want her to try to get them in backstage.
Jasmine, who released her debut CD on iShine Records, will open for Bieber at a Radio Disney Orlando concert at Celebration Town Center's "Now Snowing Nightly" event on Saturday, December 19.
Let's just hope this Franklin teen doesn't follow in the booty-shorts-wearing boot prints of fellow Frankin teen singer, Miley Cyrus.
