Love's Abiding Joy Part of The Complete Love Comes Softly Collection
Love's Abiding Joy with Erin Cottrell, Logan Bartholomew, Dale Midkiff, Drew Tyler Bell and James Tupper is a 2006 Christian drama movie made for the Hallmark Channel, directed by Michael Landon Jr. and based on the book by Janette Oke. It is the 4th DVD in The Complete Love Comes Softly Collection series, which released on December 1, 2009 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
Love's Abiding Joy
After a drought and a cattle plague, Missie LaHaye (Erin Cottrell) has resumed teaching, and she and Willie along with their two sons, Jeff (Drew Tyler Bell) and Matty (Brett Coker), and their infant daughter Kathy, are looking forward to a long-hoped-for reunion with Missie's father, Clark Davis (Dale Midkiff).
However, tragedy strikes when young Kathy LaHaye is found dead in her crib the day after Clark arrives. A numb Missie tries to resume teaching, but is not emotionally up to the task, so Willie is forced to become the town's sheriff to help pay the bills.
Things become complicated as well as dangerous when it turns out the town's mayer, Samuel Doros (John Laughlin), is a ruthless land baron, intent upon foreclosing on the ranches of the LaHaye's friends and on keeping his daughter away from Jeff LaHaye, even if it means framing Jeff for a crime he did not commit.
Starring Erin Cottrell, Logan Bartholomew, Dale Midkiff, Drew Tyler Bell and James Tupper, Love's Abiding Joy is a moving reminder of God's presence and providence even in the midst of tragedy. The run time Love's Abiding Joy is 88 minutes. The movie is rated PG US. The next film in the series is Love's Unending Legacy.
