Diamond Rio: Beautiful Mess & The Reason
Diamond Rio has been busy making media appearances to support their new Thomas Nelson book Beautiful Mess as well as their eleventh album and first full length gospel record, The Reason, which released September 22 on Word Records. Diamond Rio & Delilah
The multi-platinum selling country/gospel band had the opportunity to meet American Idol's David Archuleta and to sit down with popular Christian radio personality Delilah at the Grand Ole Opry’s birthday celebration last Saturday evening in Nashville. Delilah served as a co-host for the event and Diamond Rio performed. Lead singer Marty Roe and guitarist Jimmy Olander talked with Delilah about their two new projects (book and album) as well as about family life and their work with Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
Diamond Rio Television Appearances
Diamond Rio also appeared on TBN’s “Praise the Lord” program on October 8 with host Jason Crabb as well as on The 700 Club on October 15. CMT Insider will air an episode on the six-time vocal group of the year group this weekend on October 17 at 1:30pm ET/PT and Sunday, October 18 at 11am ET/PT. Diamond Rio will also be performing for Crystal Cathedral’s “Hour of Power” this Sunday, October 18.
Who Is Diamond Rio?
Formed in 1984, Diamond Rio signed with Arista in 1988 and became the first group in the history of country music to have a debut single (“Meet in the Middle”) reach No. 1 when they debuted in 1991. The band has had one of the most successful careers in country music, selling over 10 million albums and earning three platinum and five gold records. Diamond Rio has won the Country Music Association’s Vocal Group of the Year award four times as well as capturing two Academy of Country Music Awards in the top Vocal Group of the Year category and thirteen GRAMMY ® nominations.
