11th Annual Teen Choice Awards

The 11th Annual Teen Choice Awards, hosted by the Jonas Brothers, were taped last night and will air tonight on FOX at 8 pm/7 pm central. The 2009 Teen Choice awards were dominated by faith-based movies, shows, music and Christian personalities. Twilight

Twilight was the big winner sinking its teeth into 11 awards. Twilight, while not a Christian movie, certainly was influenced by the beliefs of Mormon author Stephanie Meyer, and as reported in A Christian Perspective on Twilight, Robert Pattinson lists himself as a Christian.

Jonas Brothers, Paramore, Selena Gomez, David Archuleta, Taylor Swift

Teen Choice Awards hosts, the Jonas Brothers, known for their Christian values, captured six Teen Choice Awards (click here for details), and Nashville's faith-based band Paramore took home two awards. Christian singer and actress Selena Gomez took home three awards as did Mormon singer David Archuleta. Hendersonville's Aaron Academy graduate, Taylor Swift, took home two 2009 Teen Choice Awards.

Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus

As reported in Miley Cyrus and 'Hannah Montana' Lasso Eight Teen Choice Awards, as well as winning six awards at last night's Teen Choice Awards, local celebutante Miley Cyrus performed her latest single 'Party in the USA' standing on top of a moving ice cream cart (click here for details and video). Miley's gospel artist father, Billy Ray Cyrus, took home a Teen Choice Award of his own for his role in "Hannah Montana."
