Heavy rains that started yesterday morning in Virginia and continue today have flooded Google Trends with references to the storm.
Among the Virginia storm-related items on Google Trends' list now are: Newport News public schools (people looking for closure information), VDOT (which stands for the Virginia Department of Transportation), VDOT road conditions, WVEC (a TV station and Web site in Virginia's hard-hit Tidewater area), Norfolk airport, Hampton Roads traffic, naval station Norfolk, WTKR (another local news station/Web site) and VDOT traffic.
It seems that for the most part people are looking for information on road, school and airport closures. Here is a very helpful Web site from VDOT that shows information on road conditions.
For the record, this is being written from Virginia, and it's still raining, with no signs of letting up. Ugh.
