A free case for all Apple iPhone users is what Steve Jobs is offering. Either that, or return the iPhone 4for a refund.
Jobs doesn't seem to think the iPhone issue is that big of a deal, but he took time out of his vacation in Hawaii to drag himself on stage.
CEO Steve Jobs took to the stage on Friday at the Apple iPhone 4 press conference and noted that the iPhone 4 problem has been “blown out out of proportion”, but they “won’t stop until every user is happy.”

Apple was out doing PR repair today. Did everyone like what Jobs had to say?
Fox News: Apple never announced a software fix for the iPhone antenna problem, other than to explain that the hardware issue would be solved with the free cases the company would be handing out. Instead Jobs spent the majority of time at its press conference explaining that cell phone reception problems were an ongoing issue for the entire industry, and defending its testing methodology.
CNET: A clearly annoyed Jobs took the stage at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino Friday to announce that all iPhone 4 users would be receiving a free case in order to solve reception issues caused by the phone's exterior-antenna design.
Newsweek: Jobs’s snotty tone made it clear that he was pretty fed up with all the whining about a problem that he says doesn’t exist.This is classic Apple behavior. No matter what the whole world can see with its own eyes, just keep saying that it isn’t true, and maybe, eventually, everyone will believe you. By refusing to acknowledge the problem, Jobs just reinforced the image of Apple as a company that is in deep denial and unable to admit a mistake—a company that has for so long been able to bend reality to suit its needs that it now has lost touch with reality itself.

i have the iphone4 and i use another case bought at the apple store and it's fantastic. i haven't had one phone call drop or service problem.

Yeah, Apple is taking a page from the books of the Republicans, Democrats and the US Government. Deny the problem exists long enough, and people will start to believe you.

P.S. we can make millions of iphones but can't make that many bumpers so you will have to choose a even cheaper case. thx again!!

Hey idiots! I'm no apologist for apple! But listen dummies! If you cover the antenna on any phone or any device.. Signal strength will drop a bar or two. Don't be a sheep. Think for yourself! Stop absorbing and repeating everything you hear. If you take your old iphone 3G and find where the antenna is and cover it .. Guess what dumbazzez! The signal drops a bar or two.. Same with EVo and android any razor. U freaking zombies! Wake up and think for urself!

I don't think the issue so much here is that you if you cover the antenna the calls drop but where it's located and the fact that the most natural way to hold the phone happens to covers it. And that's a bummer!
And Touch users are still left with broken devices from IOS4 and it's battery sucking, defective ways with no downgrade solution in lieu of a working OS.
We paid full mark for our devices, not a subsidized price.
Apple was sucking up to AT&T today really... to heck with their real customers (or at least us previous ones).

Because people / haters and the sheep are all making a big deal over how many bars they see and never bothered to ask the mist important question... Does the phone still function with 2 bars instead of 5. And the answer iiissss - YES ABSOLUTELY. So all apple has to do for the dummies is make the bars appear higher and you won't know the difference because... The phone works ... Which is all that matters . I don't give a damn if I have minus 3 bars.. If the phone still connects and I can make callsa and my Internet is the same speed. Who cares.
