Google would go broke if forced to pay for all the news content the company takes from newspapers and magazines, News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch told Fox Business Network during an interview this week.
Murdoch has said News Corp. will soon remove its newspaper properties from Google's search index as a way of encouraging people to pay for the company's content.
He told Fox Business (which News Corp. owns) that Google has devised a brilliant business model that avoids paying for news gathering yet profits off the search ads sold around that content. Meanwhile, newspapers lose revenue.
"We have to do something about that,” Murdoch told Fox Business.
