Web searchers are gawking over the not-yet-released Google phone.
"Google phone" is the no. 1 search term on Google Trends this morning.
The buzz appears to be due to a series of Twitter messages from Google employees about the Google phone, reports The Washington Post.
Google employees appear to have been issued a Google phone for testing yesterday, and many are tweeting about it.
Google folks called the company's phone "beautiful," "a sexy beast" and "like an iPhone on beautifying steroids."
The Google phone is apparently run on HTC hardware and runs Android 2.1 software. It appears to be set for a January release. Unlike the Android phone, this will be the first fully Google-branded phone.
It appears that there is high demand for the new Google phone based on this morning's buzz.
