This week President Barack Obama took a break from the Oval Office as he decided to go golfing on Martha's Vineyard.
It's hard to blame the president for taking some time off for a nice round of golf. Everybody needs some stress relief and hitting the links is a great way to get it. Even if your not the greatest golfer in the world.
President Obama played at the Farm Neck Golf Club in Oak Bluffs, Mass on Monday. Obama has been named the "Duffer in Chief" referring to his poor golf game. Speaking to Russian reporters earlier in the summer he said "It's a game that I keep on thinking I should be good at, and somehow the ball goes this way and that way and never goes straight". Poor golfing is something the President shares with a lot of fellow golfers at least.
Obama spend the day golfing with his friend Eric Whitaker, presidential aide Marvin Nicholson and UBS Americas president Robert Wolf. In addition to his round of golf, Obama also spent some time with his wife playing tennis and said he intended to hit the books. For the most part he is trying to lay low and simply enjoy a week away from it all.
The Associated Press reported that the compound where the First Family is staying rents out at about $35,000 a week and the Obama's are picking up the tab. Most likely it was worth every penny for a week away and a quiet round of golf for President Barack Obama and his family.
