The never-ending tournament also know as the 2009 Canadian Open has finally come to a close. With daily rain delays, the tournament turned into a game of endurance and patience.
After a 2-way tie and a 2-hole playoff Nathan Green was able to emerge the victor over Retief Goosen. Although Green was the winner, it seemed as if Goosen wasn't very interested in winning as he missed a short putt for the win and then missed about a 10-ft putt to stay alive. It looked a lot like what Tom Watson did in the British Open last week. Either way Nathan Green will take the hard fought win.
Jason Dufner and Anthony Kim both shared third place after fading away in the final round each shooting a 1-over 73.
Sandy Utah's Mike Weir was unable to take home the Championship for his fellow Canadians but he did turn in a respectable performance. After struggling the first day with a 71, he went on to shoot a 66 and 69 but then posted another 71 to finish tied for 16th place. His highlight of the tournament came Sunday with a hole-in-one on #4 with a 4 iron. According to his blog, it was his 2nd on tour and 10th all time.
