Look away, look away from scandal land

Nearly 3 months after Elin Nordegren Woods confronted her husband in dramatic Viking-Warrior-Princess style, the normally cloistered and reserved Buddhist Mr. Woods made his first public appearance. With a blue curtain for a backdrop and several hand-picked reporters looking on, Eldrick Tiger Woods read from the carefully scripted words before him.

This public apology was the top news story for nearly a day and a half. It was also the highest profile event of the T.A.T.—The Tiger Apology Tour.

Now with The Masters around the corner, the anticipation of Tiger’s return imminent, responses from all sides with something to gain play their hands. Martha Burk, who protested in 2004 that Augusta National should admit female members is saying it’s typical for him to use this tournament for his first comeback. Saying Tiger, like the members of Augusta have a disregard for women.

Then there’s Tiger’s former mistress who will reportedly be in the gallery. She has said Tiger apologized to many people for his repeated peccadilloes but she thinks he owes her one as well.

And yet an “other woman” will be performing during The Masters at The Pink Pony, a well-known Atlanta strip club.

Now today, more news—Tiger’s agent reportedly knew about his extramarital activities.

Plus, another mistress speaks out that it was Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley who sent Tiger down this path to infidelity.

In the past few weeks former mistresses made public more erotic text messages, or "sexts" as the kids are calling 'em these days, from Tiger.

It’s the scandal that keeps on giving.

More than ever, we need satire—a break from an irresponsible media that reports anything to draw eyeballs to news sites. Fortunately there’s South Park, the ultimate pull-no-punches comedy. Last week they attempted to answer a question: what makes males want to sleep with a lot of different females? On the show scientists discovered that when a chimpanzee is given a pile of money, it soon attempts to, ahem, commingle with other female monkeys.

Look for, or, rather look away as more sordid details surface leading up to the most prestigious golf event of the year.

It seems that the media is determined to continue relentlessly haunting Tiger Woods and his family. The media has been acting beastly towards Tiger and his family, like a ferocious, rabid animal wanting to destroy them! There seems to be a kind of vindictiveness in the media that goes beyond high ratings and sales and I wonder what could be the reason for this? Tiger apologized to everyone and accepted that what he did was very wrong. Tiger said that he was very sorry and that he was making amendments. Tiger is trying to put his life back together and he has a right to do so. Tiger wants to save his marriage and family. Why is the media so much against this? Why the media cannot let Tiger and his family to move on with their life?

The media has an insatiable appetite for anything sordid whether it's good for people or not.
