Kevin Garnett
Keep ‘em coming. Really appreciate them. Even that one from my boy, whom apparently I made dumber because Baron Davis wasn't crazy about Chris Webber's arrival.
First response is to Phil, who wanted to know where I got that the Warriors wouldn’t give Kevin Garnett an $80 million extension when the sides were talking trade around last year’s draft.
Of course, I can’t tell you where I got it. I can just tell you that I believe the people that I got it from.
With all due respect, just because you hadn’t heard it before doesn’t mean it’s not true. Isn't that why you read all this stuff? To find out things you maybe didn't know?
You likely never heard that former Warrior Chris Mills once cursed out and threatened Eric Musselman in front of everyone on the team plane after Musselman left Mills at the Pepsi Center in Denver after he took too long to ice after a game.
Or that former Warrior Rony Seikaly used to go skiing when he was on the injured list with an ankle injury, or that Dickey Simpkins watched Latrell Sprewell choke P.J. Carlesimo from 10 feet away and never moved a half-step to break it up.
⇒To Jones4bball: The verdict is still out on Kevin Pritchard. I think the Blazers have a bright future but until they make the playoffs, I’m not ready to make any kind of proclamation about Pritchard being steps ahead of other GMs.
The Blazers have a big-time potential with Greg Oden and Brandon Roy. It’s tough to give Pritchard credit for lucking into the No. 1 pick, but you do have to give him credit for acquiring Roy from Minnesota on last year’s draft day. Astute move.
Pritchard has made a ton of transactions over the past few years but who knows? Maybe they’ll all pan out and the Blazers will be an elite team for years. Or maybe it will be a case of Foghorn Leghorn _ “doin’ a lot of choppin’ but no chips are flyin’.”
⇒Rich: You’re right, Ike Diogu was the Player of the Year in the Pac-10 the year he was drafted by the Warriors. But he wasn’t exactly a “known” commodity at that point. In fact, the Warriors’ selection of Diogu at No. 9 was somewhat of a surprise.
Diogu wasn’t even at the draft the night the Warriors made him theirs. And it’s tough to remember a pick as high as Diogu who missed the draft for reasons other than scheduling or logistical issues.
Still, point taken about his Player of the Year honors. He wasn't exactly invisible.

Would a rejuvenated Starbury be any benefit to the W's? Obviously the Knicks want to get rid of him and his 21.9 mils...but does he still have it and where is head at? He could always learn Italian from Marco B....
