Jameer Nelson: Having the guys over
If you’re in Philadelphia this week, don’t be surprised if you see about a dozen really big, really tall guys making their way out and about town together.
Jameer Nelson will be having his Orlando Magic teammates to his hometown of Philly for a few days of work and play. This will be the third offseason Nelson has had teammates in town for no other reason than to hang out, spend time together and bond.
Adonal Foyle will be coming from the Bay Area and Mickael Pietrus and Hedo Turkoglu will be coming from overseas. According to Foyle, the only player who will be missing will be Dwight Howard.
And he’s got a pretty good excuse.
Magic vice president of communications Joel Glass said Nelson and Howard, Orlando’s captains, are the ones who deal with getting players together, and that the team has nothing to do with it.
Glass said from what he understands the players work out together during the day, then go out to dinner, comedy clubs, etc., at night.
According to Foyle, the Magic will be bowling, attending a Philadelphia Phillies game and heading down to Atlantic City over the course of the week. Who knows if Foyle will push for next year's bonding session to be in his hometown ... that isle in the Caribbean.

Pro sports need more of this, very cool. Its hard to tell how much pro athletes really care for one another when once offseason comes they all split for months...
Although they don't need it as extreme as the Dallas Cowboys had with that party house in the 90s. That place just gave all the Cowboy players a runny nose...
