It's a rookie orientation staple, but it's always pretty amusing.
Warriors veterans punt basketballs into the Oracle Arena stands after Thursday's shoot-around, and first-year players Anthony Morrow, Rob Kurz and Anthony Randolph are left to retrieve them.
Ronny Turiaf was most impressive, the only Warrior able to punt the ball into the second level.
By the way, midway through the video, you'll see assistant coach Stephen Silas walking with a computer across the screen. After he set up the computer, a few Warriors took a look for themselves at one of the internet's hottest videos: the one alleging Warriors forward Corey Maggette walked six times in one play.
Suffice it to say, everyone got a kick out of it. And to his credit, Maggette did, too.

Comments
Haha, Turiaf is the man.
The video of Maggette is going to be a classic.
2010 NBA Champs right there.
who do you think is paying for the replishment of these lopsided balls... you got it, season ticket holders and others swindled into buying Dubs tix, merchandise, etc. way to go. at least you are helping the splanding worker in vietnam.
dude..chill out Ws have been doing this for years..i remember the video of dunleavy doing the same thing to monta
Listening to Nelson the other night when a caller called about the trade rumors of Andris and Monta,(saying that he was a season ticket holder, and those two are a big reason why) Nelson reply was how both are base players, and how hard it would be to trade them, basically telling the caller not to worry. If I'm the caller his comments would have me worried, because he never said not to worry because those two were still thought of as the future. Be afraid, be very afraid. Suddenly Im not so optimistic, for now anyways. All the talk about Amare. yea, hes a big time scorer, but is he a big time defender and rebounder?
The slo-mo part of the Maggette tape is LOL funny. Question: Do certain NBA officials simply miss those calls? Or do they not call them because they perceive the player is gaining no advantage? Or what? It seems we're seeing more traveling calls in recent seasons, so what gives with this one?
This is probably being watched in the NBA offices, and they have to be embarrassed. Watch out, Corey.
Matt, how about asking the head of officials what gives?
Stephen Silas hits ll the blogs.
He's a freaking dork.
He posts a lot, too.
the video of maggette is totally hilarious. Its true i have noticed him walk in games before and get away with it, however guys like azubuike and Randolph always get called for it. In particular the illegal shuffle. Of course, wasn't that illegal shuffle one of MJs patented moves?
where do you find the maggette video? Can't search it on youtube. Thanks
It's on youtube. Just search for "Maggette six" (because he travels six times) and it's the first one.
Re Nellie talk. In spite of winning, the entire team + coach was down last nightwith the exception of Belinelli. Watson could hardly focus. The tell would be footage of Williams. Did anyone read his body language? Crawford + Williams + (?) + draft pick?
FWIW, I don't want the trade.
N: Not sure what you're talking about -- reading lips, minds, facial expressions. We all try, but I didn't see what you did. The Ws performance was ragged, but so was Portland's. Last game before the big break. Trade deadline pending. Guys were distracted. They're human.
game meant nada. portland already on vacation.
MT2 wrote an article recently and said Nellie is intending to go with a limited roster that might leave some younger players out of the rotation. My question: do you/Nellie think that Randolphs improved attitude/practice habits/offense/overall play will garner him more playing time down the stretch? Has he proven himself a little more playable than Wright? He certainly has a tenacity (sometimes confused for bad attitude) that Wright doesn't seem to display.
both videos fun to watch! thanx matt!
love the dubs...
@ Mike W.: both teams' playing was ragged, but the W's, as a team, floor, bench, and coach, seemed downeven after winning. After the game, only Belinelli seemed happy. I was reading entrails and was wondering if anyone saw the same.
Hey Matt, I was checking out the 82 games site and saw that they ranked the Warriors as the sixth best drafting team from 1989 till 2008. with 9 star players, it didnt mention any names, but I can only think of one big as a star player, and thats C Webb. so i think most of those 9 are/were guards and swing men, so other than lousy managment and/or poor coaching you think that the lack of good big men in the draft is the main reason for 20 years of futility? Oh I guess holding on to a few of those so-called star players wouldnt hurt either.
Got something to say?
