Warriors guard Monta Ellis was back on the court with teammates on Friday, taking part in some full-court fastbreak drills.
It was the first time Ellis has done any practice work with teammates. All his rehabilitation work had been done on the side up to this point.
Ellis did not take part in the contact portion of practice, and he didn't do any real cutting.
It was the first time Ellis participated in a practice drill with his teammates since suffering a left ankle injury while riding a moped in the offseason.
Said coach Don Nelson: "It's one of the lighter (fastbreak drill) things we do, so that's why we had him do it. But he was way better than I thought he'd be. He is an amazing athlete."
Nelson suggested on Wednesday that Ellis might be a week or so away from taking part in a full practice.

Go Monta!

First off, thanks for the video updates. Its great to actual see. Judging by the way he kept bending over it looks like he has a little ways to go before hes in actual game shap, but still I think im getting a bit anxious here.
Nelson=Casey Stengel of basketball.
This will all end badly.
I foresee a setback or something worse in the very near future.
The team has already put all blame on Ellis and all judgment on the doctors. Right, that's how professional Get Rich Quick schemes work in this NBA. This from the team that burns Jackson and Baron and then "let's" Jackson "play hurt" non stop.
This is such a mess.
I hate that you make us click to another link (which opens another window) when you could have easily embedded the YouTube clip. I know you get more page views that way, but yeesh
Marin: The reality is that, despite the timestamp, I posted the news of Monta Ellis going fullcourt, along with a quote from Don Nelson an hour earlier than the video. So I just did it the way I did it. If you'll notice at the half-dozen or so previous videos, they've all been one-click jobs ... fair enough?
When is someone going to point out that Monta can't elevate at all? Does anyone really think he'll be playing well this season, let alone this month?
Got something to say?
