Mellow Mushroom opened the Columbus location last year, however, they did not start offering gluten-free pizza until the past few weeks. The gluten-free pizza was first offered in North Carolina as a test market item and has apparently done very well.
The gluten-free pizza comes in one size only - medium. The medium is a 14-inch pizza which feeds 2 people, maybe 3 if those people have smaller appetites. My son and I split a cheese pizza, with red (tomato) base. I also added Roma tomatoes to my side. The pizza cost $11.50 plus $1.75 per topping. The only exceptions are chicken and steak and they each count as 2 toppings or $3.50. In addition to gluten-free pizza, Mellow Mushroom also offers Bard's Tale gluten-free beer. Most of the toppings are gluten-free, but be sure to check with your server for the list. Great care is taken by Mellow Mushroom to minimize cross-contamination. The pizzas are prepared in a separate area of the restaurant, down to ingredients coming from a gluten-free line, not the line where the "regular" pizzas are prepared. The pizza is outstanding! The crust is thin and chewy - not crumbly in the least. Two thumbs up!

Mellow Mushroom joins many other restaurants now serving gluten-free pizza in the Columbus area. BJ's Brewhouse, Uno's Chicago Grill, Z Pizza and Boston's Gourmet Pizza are just some of he places in Columbus serving gluten-free pizza.
