When blog posts began appearing about the new Betty Crocker gluten-free products, it was apparent that the company was sending out samples to people to test taste and review gluten-free products before they were introduced to the public. There were too many such posts for this to be just 'friends of friends' who worked for the company getting in on the action.
The mystery about how so many bloggers were getting sneak peeks at new products is finally solved. General Mills is now inviting all bloggers to participate in their new program My Blog Spark. This is not just for gluten-free bloggers so tell all your blogger friends about it whether they are gluten-free or not. As there might be a cap on how many participants can sign up, be sure and to register soon.
People who sign up will be eligible to recieve products that fit their blogging theme and possibly hosts give-aways for their readers. Once again, this is not for only the gluten-free blogging community. Finally a large company has figured out to market not only to our quickly growing gluten-free market but to the rest of the world. Kudos to General Mills for figuring it out!

Thank you! Sounds fun.
It is good to see this health issue is finally being addressed. I have been on a gluten free diet since the late 1970's. When I was first diagnosed I had to send to Canada for gluten free supplies. It is great to know I can get bread for a grilled cheese sandwich, flour for baking and other gluten free products locally.I just wish more doctors would consider this test when treating folks with stomach ailments, because this is one health issue that can bea ddressed very successfully by diet and without drugs. Thanks again for your part in developing gluten free food. By the way I am over 70 and lead a very active healthy life style.
It does sound fun 'D'! Over thirty years years Barbara?...I can't even imagine that. Just in the last 3+ years that I've been gluten-free the market has exploded. If you know anyone with IBS, make sure they watch the video in my article about celiac and IBS. Kudos to you for living an active lifestyle! I have MUCH more energy that I did at 20 and it's directly related to me being gluten-free.
And to think I bought all of my blog-samples myself!
I know! I didn't get any freebies of these mixes or other things I reviewed on my blog, though I did know that many bloggers did. About half of what I review on this site is sent to me for free but I've had to turn down some offers of things I know are not good. I don't like writing negative reviews because I don't think it's fair for me to steer people away from something just because I don't like it. No doubt, most people are not nearly the gluten-free food snob that I am...lol!
Someone asked me to clarify my comment below. I write good reviews for things I like and don't write reviews of things I don't care for. Quite a while back I wrote about a terrible product (on my blog) that many people told me they liked. So I decided then I would only write about products that I liked and if people wanted to try something I liked, great. If they don't, that's fine too. No two people have the same tastes but of products I've recommended to friends and blog readers, my track record is about 98% positive. That is a pretty good record, I think. Most people don't order in their doughnuts, bagels and cheese crackers due to the expense. Since I can't do with a substandard tasting item, I will go without before I'll eat something that is not excellent (to me).
